Plot twist: He wasn't an actor. He just showed up at the set, they mistook him for an actor and accidentally filmed a conversation between him and the woman. And since film material is expensive, it made it into the film.

Coldyron is the least human-like character in a film with two robots. I guarantee both ROTOR and the police droid could have come up with a more natural analogy than the skeletons in a tin coffin thing. (And hello from a fellow Retsu fan)

You're looking for sense in this mess? 1) Sonia stops to talk to the cop who just murdered her fiancée after fleeing him initially. 2) The car she leaves in after Coldyron gets his ass kicked? Whose _is_ that? It wasn't hers or his. 3) He has time to call Steele, have her fly in, check into a hotel all while Sonia can't stop to sleep. He didn't give Sonia a # to call for help, nor has a way to shut off his killer robot remotely. He knows his robot can follow Sonia. Why not send her to where they can trap ROTOR? He & Steele talked for _hours_ about what to do. They needed to fly her in to _talk?_ There's more, but...

The endless overdubbed dialogues and how Coldiron gets blown away by a shotgun at the end-almost like he knew it was a piece of trash movie and wrote that part in. Still, it was rich pickings for the Best Brains crew.

Most people don't know what it is. MST3K isn't even that well known and Rifftrax is even less known, although I prefer Rifftrax by a lot.

I figure MST3K and Rifftrax will never have a HUGE fanbase because a lot of their movies are too painful. Rifftrax definitely has a wider universe of movies though, including the non-painful ones. It just hasn't been around as long as MST3K.

Strangely, it's spelled "Coldyron" with a "y". But that would mean they should pronounce it "coldee ron" or "coll dyron" not "cold iron". It's amazing on how many levels this movie doesn't make a lick of sense. Also, it's just not the same when the robot doesn't dance to "White Lines/Cavern". Damn you, Red Letter Media!

The writing in this movie wasn't topped until A Talking Cat!?! came out decades later.

the ADR on the "feets don't fail me now" guy is also Coleman Francis level.

What makes it even better is that almost no one else is ADR'd. Also I totally get why the RLM guy's called him back problems, there's just something about his posture and the way he moves that makes him look like he's recovering from major surgery.

According to IMDB: "The movie's release was delayed by almost two years due to financial problems. By the time director Cullen Blaine was able to find the money to finish post-production, several members of the cast, including lead actor Richard Gesswein, either could not be tracked down or refused to return for ADR dubbing, forcing Blaine to have other actors overdub all of their dialogue."

@@peytonmac1131 I know their phone call was painful to listen to, but it established the guy’s corruption pretty well and Coldyron basically threatened to reveal it after dealing with ROTOR.

It may be common but that's what helps to make it funnier and more common, as an inside joke between fans :) Have you or anybody else out there been to the restaurant? We don't have them where I live. I'm guessing it's a steakhouse but is it really that bad? And why? Please let me know if you get a chance. Cheers from Canada

@@steveharvey2102 It's a buffet place, it's not _bad_ but it's also really not very good. It's the kind of place you go like... after football practice or something, when you need a lot of food and you aren't picky about it. They're really nostalgic for me because we didn't have them were I lived as a kid, but they did around my grandparents, so we always went there when we visited. As a kid I loved it, not so much now. :D

Granted, it's not all that bad considering Buffets are a rare sight, and its value is undeniable; but some would consider it 'trashy' since they cook in large quantities - increasing likelihood for undercooked/overcooked food... But as a buffet, you're encouraged to grab a new plate of food - if your appetite isn't demoralized after biting into raw or tough meat. In my opinion, I like the breakfast buffet for all the bacon I can manage to eat - or eggs n steak, even if it is only scrambled eggs. Considering the value, if you don't mind cheap steak, then you can fill up on protein/calories easy.

I was just thinking how strikingly beautiful she is in this, and how I think she could have been very good in a better film of the same style. For all the ridiculous things she was asked to do or say, when she was onscreen, I actually got the sense there was a living, breathing person experiencing the events of the story, instead of a cardboard cutout. In the middle of this mess, simple competence comes off as brilliance.

You know, not every piece of information really needs to be shared just because the related topic comes up. I will name this particular little notch on my depression-meter after you. "So, how are you feeling today, James?" "Oh, I'd say about 3.5 notches north of Climinator."

That brief shot of his death is pretty solid. The legitimacy that test audiences would request the protagonist's death seems easier to punch up the ending than rewriting a movie around a character.
