Interviewer: "So tell me about the intricacies of your hallmark signature model" Scott: "It's got fuckin sick stuff" Me: *Throws bag of money at Ibanez*
@@MtMars iam a fan of there music and man can they play, but I think its not a joke he just does not know much about gear, which is totally ok so he can focus on playing.
I love awkward people. There’s something genuine about it. I love how the guys in polyphia go against the grain and do things their way. Real sense of freedom in it. Exactly how’d I’d do it.
I'm gonna venture a guess and say the real reason he's awkward is cause he knows the guy's gonna be asking him questions he doesn't care about, and then he has to kinda fake enthusiasm for all this stuff for the video. You can't be awkward by yourself, it's kinda like tango, it takes two. Awkwardness is a concerted effort. He's not awkward when he's with the band. I bet Scott doesn't give a shit about most of this stuff and just likes playing. I mean obvious, cause he called the fret markers "neck logos". :P
Gotta appreciate Scott giving a shoutout to the Clays they are so good at their instruments & the drumming is definitely high level, dude is doing these interesting snare fills & trap hi-hats, really not explored in this genre.
amnesia yea polyphias old djent fan base loves to trash their videos with “I miss inspire” type shit along w the classic rock n blues boomers. Definitely gets annoying
Makes you wonder how these dudes get their signature models. His tech could get any used guitar off ebay, paint it red and put some good pickups on them and he probably couldn't tell the difference. Or is he just a big sarcastic f*ck throughout this whole interview?
yeah its pretty funny. Some people don't care about that stuff and just wanna play, and thats totally okay. He can probably out-play almost all the people worrying about his terminology and parts knowledge lol. I'm a shitty player, but I'm a total tech/gear/tone nerd, so i can easily see the other side of the spectrum.
To al you peeps who interview guys like this: Thank you for asking questions! Often the artist does not know what to share about the gear they are using. Thanks PG!
Every once in a while you get a glimpse of it on their instagrams, I imagine they’re really nice guys, Tim responded to someone once on his IG talking about how he was a bitch as a kid and now he’s trying to make up for it or something along those lines
"So tell me something about your gear man!" "Okay uh yeah dude, so. This is like.. a guitar.. and uh.. well these are strings and.. yeah. so. Black and gold.. feels sick!" *plays chord and stares at interviewer*
Polyphia is usually drunk. They’re party boys... BUT Although Scott looks and sounds either drunk, or just super tired, they have this persona they use publicly... Goofy party boys. LOL But honestly Scott is one of the coolest nicest dudes around! Tim is usually... drunk. Lol
Scott's super cool at the Worcester Mass show me and the wife had VIP passes and I asked a couple questions about his new signature Ibanez and he had his Tech bring the guitar up so I can play with it for a few minutes and feel things like neck Contour without having to explain it sort of thing. very very down-to-earth very cool guy. All the guys were very cool
i have this guitar and its a beast. my fav guitar for 3 years now. FYI i have owned over 30 guitars. You wont regret buying this. The sound is just perfect!
I hate the way Polyphia tries to act, its extremely forced and cringy tbh, the interviewer needs a raise up... Scott didnt event wanted to play any riff like what..
FindTher the dude interviewing just stood there without any kind of prepared questions and left awkward silence. It’s just bad interviewing. You can’t deny that
Scott's a funny guy, I enjoyed the insight and the humor! I was surprised to finally see an Axe 8 in use. I have a traditional rig and an Axe 8 rig, which of course is just that little box. Both are equally useful, inspiring and enjoyable to me.
I know their personalities well enough. My cousin grabbed Scott his first heady topper in VT, and I was hanging with clay (bass) for like an hour outside, smoking cigs and just chillin. Heard some early versions of songs off renaissance. Massively chill dudes
"I don't like my action too high, cuz then I can't fkkn hit any of that... it's like I'm playing a damn sitar and... I can't play a fkkn sitar." Absolutely love the dude
