Two vertical oriented bolts connect the wings. They are moved into position with a spindle. If one of the two bolt does not penetrate the two lips properly, the aircraft can be flown with this improper mounting, using only one lip of both. In this condition the strength (=Fracture load) of the aircraft is strongly reduced. This has led to accidents.
