Great video mate, should do a video of how to properly roll up slings to put in a box so I can show my new doggy, hate trying to grab a singular sling after he has packed her up and pulling out half the box cause they are all matted together! Cheers Thomas
Hello bro I've watch most of your videos and am grateful to see someone is out there looking out for our Operators yeah yeah yeah lol well bro I just like to ask if you have any videos from tadano rough terrain GR 1600XL for example Gross load capacity deduction will be most thankful for that, my regards to you and Family.
Back hook the chains... I've been operating a crane for 30 years and I never had terminology for hooking the chains back up to the d-ring. I always simply made a u-shaped motion with my hand. Great video.....
I also find it hard to believe you are an operator if you domt even know the most basic way to rig loads. The intro training video I watched 6 months ago for rigging from fucking 1980 said named the basket in the first 30 seconds of the tape.
On the set up where it is back hooked and then the hook is set up to the hanging chain you said put a shackle cause of point loading, but even with the shackle wont you still have all the same force on the chain? Can someone explain that set up to me a bit further I've set up like that heaps but never thought about point loading before
So a double wrap will increase the friction on a steel pipe or beam, and wrapping around a square load ,eg a beam you lose 0.5 of the rated capacity when reaved.
In the UK the shortened chains with the hooks would be point loading (I don't have to look it up as I know from a safety standpoint that's what they'd say). Although I didn't know you could put a bow shackle on the chain and use the hook? Why wouldn't this be point loading as the bow shackle isn't on the master ring?
All picks were ok except for the hand shake and double wrap. Chain manufacturers do not ever recommend these types of use. Double wrap puts too much corner stress on the chain from 90 degree bites. Hand shakes dont set correctly in the safe zone of the hook. Never worry about chain grade, only worry about the rated chain wll. Working load limit. If it doesnt have a tag dont use it.
you can depends on the chain set up, you can only have two points off a ring, so if you only have a master ring with two chains coming off it you cant back hook , if you have two extra rings you can back hook onto those
Rigging in our country is more complex lifting. Dogman is the guy who unloads and loads trucks with supplies equipment etc with loads weights and lifting points already specified. A Complex Rigger would be able to calculate a weight of an item determine the C.o.g and create lifting points.
