Love what you did with the ending Mitch! Was planning on building riku but I already have an animar, soul of elements deck so I’m just going to put riku in there when he arrives. It’s going to be an interesting temur deck consisting of big-stompy-combo-counter-jank, how every temur deck should play :D

Hey Mitch! this is the perfect deck for Biovisionary. Biovisionary is a Human Wizard 2 / 3 for UG1. At the beginning of the end step, if you control four or more creatures named Biovisionary, you win the game. it is literally 23 cents on tcgplayer and you can't tell me it any more misarable play experience than tidespout/terassadon getting rid of lands. it is perfect in the deck.

I actually just built a Riku deck a month ago! I basically went through my collection and went "this card is fine, but what if I cast it...twice?" And it turned out well.

Great video! I like Elite Archanist. Each time he’s cloned you get a repeatable instant from your hand. Caustic Caterpillar and Siren Stormtamer are great to make copies of as a way to counter spells and destroy artifacts. Great for working around your opponents counter target spell cards.

Just played this against my friend after some practice! I played the card that allows you to cast sorcery/instants from players graveyards! Got to end up copying him like 5 times using sorcerys from my graveyard and won the game. Super fun game

Hey Mitch, I noticed a possible combo that exists with cards that are already in this deck if you just add the card Archaeomancer. If Peregrine Drake, Archaeomancer, Riku and 5 lands are in play: 1. Cast Quasiduplicate/Fated Infatuation/Cackling Counterpart/Repudiate targeting Archaeomancer 2. Use Riku's ability to copy the Quasiduplicate, targeting Peregrine Drake 3. Resolve the copied Quasiduplicate, making a token of Peregrine Drake and untapping 5 lands 4. Resolve the original Quasiduplicate, making a token of Archaeomancer and returning it to your hand 5. You now have 5 untapped lands and a Quasiduplicate to recast and copy 6. Rinse and repeat Archaeomancer is also just a pretty good value card, so this seems like an easy slot in!

Notable upgrade, Spark Double. You can create clones of any legendary creature you control including Riku. Then as long as you have enough Mana, you can easily generate massive amounts of clones.

So I have the Arcane Maelstrom precon from the 2020 release of commanders, and this is what brought me to Riku. He's so much better, and so cool. Is it just me who gets overwhelmed by all the possibilities?

Scute swarm though. With brudiclad oh boy things gonna get interesting. Even without brudiclad you can copy ramp spells. Very likely an overextend but at the same time multiplication is fun.

With my Riku deck, I've found that second harvest is insane in a Riku deck, especially when you copy it multiple times.

I've just got to point out Channeled Force, which becomes an absurd piece of value when copied. If you can discard at least three cards, you're drawing six and killing something significant. If you can discard 5+, you're pretty much set. (Granted, it's better in Kalamax, but I've never been disappointed when I cast it). Inscription of Abundance is similarly amazing to copy.

Since you're running Risen Reef, you might want to run Jace, Wielder of Mysteries (as a reasonable upgrade, since he's just under $4?). Cloning Risen Reef and making copies of it grow the number of draws exponentially. Jace WoM provides a random I win the game effect out of nowhere. (Laboratory Maniac/Thassa's Oracle also work, and you can clone Oracle if it's ever relevant to get multiple triggers with growing devotion.)

Riku!!!!! My favorite temur commander! Unlike animar he’s actually fair and fun to play against. Also unlike animar he’s super open ended and there’s a ton of things you can do with him. I love seeing people’s Riku builds because no two are the same.

I’d love to see a deck Tech on Will and Rowan Kenrith. Plansewalkers are my favorite card type and I love that those two not only can be your commanders, but that they partner with each other. They have cool synergy and I’d love to see how you could build a deck around them.

iv spent a long time brewing riku clones and i have some creature suggestions that are really fun to have multiples of, kalonian hydra is a bomb!, emisary of grudges is sooo fun to have many of, charmbreaker devils for random spell return, assembled alphas for pack savagry, moldgraf monstrosity for random returns, dragonlair spider for increasing infestation, clone shell, nascent metamorph, game keeper, pathrazer of ulamog, cytoplasm, roil elemental, colossal whale is sooo fun to eat everything up, djinn of infinite deceits for swap shenanagins, protean hulk, warward swordtooth, savage ventmaw for many mana, rust scarab

That's been my experience. Also, copies of Mimic (including the one you make with Riku) won't make further copies, and you can't use Riku to copy the copies it makes either, so the actual Riku synergy is pretty low.

Hi Mitch! Thanks for your deck techs, they help me out a lot. I was wondering what your opinion is of Wild Growth, I think it is a very underrated ramp card. And Wishclaw Talisman? I really like to make deals and this card usually lets me tutor twice and the manascrewed guy gets his Sol Ring.
