Randy using the Wabbajack to throw events in there. All you needed was some drop pods to suddenly show up with a load of cheese.

Wrt/ educating children - after having educated over two dozen kids I found best to just leave their schedule empty of either work or rec. What I've discovered is that the availability of various child activity options is absolutely key. They need to be able to go nature running, watch adults work, do radio chatting, sky dream, get lessons, etc. etc. Therefore try to make sure all options are unlocked to them and let them do their thing. note 1 - they change about every day what they want/need to do note 2 - reducing the time they spend sleeping really helps (be warned that their smaller body sizes affect overdose chances on drugs, I learned that the hard way) note 3 - do NOT go caravaning with kids. They get 0 education of any kind while on road trips, sadly :

Just a note that crossing areas can be roofed to prevent toxic fallout exposure while they cross. You could also roof to the end of the solar panels and windmill to be able to repair without blocking them. At 7:27 you could put a pillar up in the stockpile zone to then build a roof over it.

To prevent exposure to Toxic fallout, build roofs. Don't necessarily be outdoors. As long colonists are under a roof, they can work in outdoor area or travel to different buildings. I would build a roof between the main base and that small building on the right.

W mojej ostatniej grze Randy miał większy ubaw. Najpierw wybuch wulkanu latem, na jesien dodał do tego toxic fallout. Wszystko to przez minimum pół roku. Na koniec zimy uznał, że doda jeszcze falę zimna. Temperatura dochodziła do -40, a nawet chyba -50 Celciusza. Wiosna przywitała już tylko dalszą wulkaniczną zimą. That was fun

FWIW IIRC stone traps do dmg proportional to their HP, so granite would be better than sandstone.. but I may well be misremembering or it's changed (I haven't looked it up). They do certainly take longer time to build proportional to their HP tho.. Since Q is (as always) worried about steel, how about some 'scrap mech' jobs on the machinist's tables, as well as including the new 'scrap mechanoid chunk' for the smelter (incidentally, I don't think he's spotted the new 'smelt/scrap anything' job available on the smelter either..)

I looked it up on the wiki, which asserts that trap damage depends on the material's sharp weapon modifiers and provides a table. According to that table: marble, limestone, and slate have equal effectiveness, sandstone is weaker, and granite is better. All stone blocks are more dangerous than wood and less dangerous than gold, the weakest metal spike trap.

When I run out of quill rimworld playthroughs to watch I feel like Marge after Homer is ejected from the 'all you can eat' restaurant... please consider turning down the "difficulty". you're spending so much time grinding random events that the main story isn't progressing.

Episode 16 and you still haven't activated the monolith??! Seems like maybe you should have opted for an easier difficulty if you were so worried about it. I expected to see you dealing with the new threats and mechanics much, much sooner to the point where now I feel like I've been scammed into watching several episodes waiting for it to happen.

yep, not sure why he did not activated it already. the funny part, most earl monolith events are simpler than the base game stuff, as they are almost exclusively melee stuff. i would say without going into the second phase of the monolith, it makes things easier a bit, but much more wackier.
