My uncle (😢RIP) used to play guitar. He was pretty good and some of my best memories of him was him trying to teach me. I never got the hang of it. When I gotten older i wanted to learn to play and tryed for meny years... This year my wife got me a Merlin for Christmas and said," i know you want to play the lady at the shop said it would be easier to learn on this." So here i am... This looks easy enough and i like mr cash I'll give it ago... Thank you for this video...
So sorry for your loss. I do think the Merlin is easier and I sincerely hope music can help you to remember all the good times. Luckily Johnny Cash has a tons of great songs that work very well on the Merlin. I have a few tutorial videos out already on his great songs. Take care friend and keep strumming!
I've been a bass player for 35 years. I just bought a Merlin to have something small and portable to carry around and have music with me all the time. I love your tutorials.....Merlin ROCKS!
Sirant, You're brilliant, I've bought various stringed instruments over the years and many tutorials, and I have been useless. Out of final desperation, I bought a Merlin figuring it to be a basic instrument, what could go wrong? But I was still useless! After watching only a few of your tutorials, I can now get something akin to music out of my Merlin! Many thanks.
Thanks for the great videos! I picked up a merlin knowing that I would have your videos to watch and it has been a fun instrument. I have sausage fingers like you, which is why I used to play bass, so it was nice to see that i wouldn't be a lost cause
I walked into a pawn shop, saw one of these, couldn't get away from it. Just wrote a tribute to Chris Cornell, inspired by "Nearly Forgot my Broken Heart" and "Hunger Strike".
playing this instrument using and strumming chords isnt difficult, however if you cant sing, and i simply do not know how to sing and play at the same time, the result does not sound that great. but thanks anyway
