They seem to have made a big turnaround. Despite charging for shipping now, the stuff I've been hearing about coming from the $27 ( $25 if you buy 2+) scratch and dent sword boxes is increasing in quality, even if its a wall hanger/fantasy weapon. I suspect supply issues were plaguing BUDK during the 2019/2020 shutdowns. I just bought 4 and got a JACKPOT: The Honshu Claymore.
It's a damn shame that Bud K has gone this route. I've never purchased a mystery sword box before however I've commented and enjoyed your honest reviews. This is flat out mall ninja garbage. To be honest even a good mall ninja might choose better quality items. Damn shame how companies screw their customer by claiming scratch and dent but throw you their garbage that they couldn't manage to give anyway for free.
Yeah, I noticed and those that are getting screwed or the customers. I’m pretty much done with bud K for good after this. For a short while they had a monthly subscription Four sword box. Apparently they didn’t sell very well so, they just started throwing them into the mystery boxes instead. I know the tone of my video wasn’t very nice and I do apologize for that. I felt overwhelmingly screwed and just could not hold my tongue.
I was gonna give them another try after the last one that I got, last time was the same thing and after watching your video i am not even gonna bother with them, they used to be a good company now in my eyes they are just scammers. LOL I also bought a four sword mystery box for $50 and I got two of those cheap $20 swords one useless no Edge sword type thing and I got one zatoichi's sword I liked it the zatoichi's Soto it is a bamboo like cane and you pull the sword out

I order my son and I each a fixed blade scratch and dent mystery box....both had the exact same 3 knifes and they were all new in the box junk knifes they couldn't sell. I'm done with them myslef.
Wow! You got almost the same shit I did last Spring. Gotta admit, I was curious what they might have after the Summer just as you were. Glad I resisted the urge.
I got one just as bad back in February. I may wait another 5 or 6 months and try again. In the mean time I am going to have to find something new that gets as many people watching.

But, the reason I was doing these boxes was for the fun of opening a complete mystery. Unfortunately, the quality has gone so low that the value is to me is now completely gone. Had a little bit of a bumpy patch there but, I now have a healthy family, I have a good wife, good friends, I can get where I need to go, I have a roof over my head and food in my stomach. I've noticed they raised their prices. Unfortunately most of what they sell isn't worth the cheap prices they used to have, let alone the raised current prices. I'll miss your unboxing videos but I don't blame you the least little bit.

I had actually purchased a scratch and dent box about 2 weeks ago. Came in yesterday. I got the first 2 you got in the box. Then I got a sword cane with a skull on top and a shinwa. So I think it was just bad luck of the draw or maybe I just got lucky with my first box
You are right but, I want to at least get my money’s worth in merchandise as well. Before this I was getting actual scratch & dent and remainders that were usually at least worth what I paid.
So far I have gotten at least one good blade with each box.They need to realize that more than one person are recording videos on the boxes. They will start to loose money if they don't step it up.

Though about ordering another box. But I barely broke even on my first and only box. Got garbage 3 SLOs but I got a union saber that has no edge and cannot be sharpened. Got to agree BK is pushing crap and ripping everyone off. I'm sticking to my guns and not ordering another mystery box
Considering the price Shinwa blades aren’t bad. No, you aren’t getting a $10,000.00 hand forged heirloom quality blade. But, you do get a decent forged and tempered sword with relatively nice furniture.
oh no... i just purchased 4 crap "swords".. had i watched this video before i watched the other videos of you pulling shinwas, i could've saved $50. my mistake and a big one at that.. isnt it false advertising for them to be doing this? if not, its a very shifty thing for a company to do. Ill update y'all when I get my box. Maybe they heard us complain and went back to their old ways, unlikely but ill keep my fingers crossed.
Well, I hope you Fare better than I did. I ordered twice over the space of 5 months and got substandard quality both times. Very very disappointed with them.
Just got the package today and I'm beyond disappointed, got the stupid blue fury set, the dark seeker "sword" a stupid cane with a skull on it with a blade that the wind could break, and those welfare gladiator swords. Not buying from budk for at least another year.

We started buying scratch and dent from budk based on your video reviews....we agree that the sword scratch & dent is useless now. We appreciate your vid on this and we too will no longer be buying this. I don't know what happened but Budk has really screwed alot of their faithful customers.

My friend, You are absolutely right. They used to be a lot better and actually worth the price of $10.00 per blade. I got a lot of decent swords in their old boxes. I would almost always get 1 or 2 forged carbon steel blades from Shinwa. Now it’s just stamped stainless dirt mall trash. I definitely would steer clear of the mystery sword boxes now.
No. Simply because owning them is a bit of a confusing situation in the horribly leftist state I live in (Illinois). Legal but not quite illegal firearm owner ID may or may not be required. All depending on the mood of the police and states attorney on any given day.
Who cares about the quality? It's not like you're using them, ever. Everybody buys swords for the looks and to show them off. Nobody is out there getting in to sword fights. These will cut watermelons just as good as a $1000 blade.
Bud K is straight up garbage anyway . I wouldnt even get their damascus katana , like the rurousha damascus katana or the doragon katana . just cheap and weak and payhetic . although do make good katanas if you know the right companies to deal with . ronin , sino sword , swords of northshire , skyjiro and I'll even say hanwei , even though im not a fan of hanwei , but they do make good steel . but those are the best companies to deal with in china ! st. nihonto is decent and munetoshi and ryujin is straight , along with handmade sword . lol damn I just named all the good companies to buy katanas from in china . but Bud K lol I just cant see how anybody would deal with them . I would buy blades from musashi and musha before I buy anything from Bud K
Well, I would not normally buy any of those items in that box myself. But, that’s part of what I did for my videos was unbox mystery items because you never know what you get. If you don’t like my videos you can always just move along.
