It was interesting to see the interaction between the Prison and Crosshair's Scheme! It looks like you played it right. Also, you have my condolences for a first turn Shadows of the Past.
@Evan Chauvette Haha! I don't know if it's this scenario, or the new sleeves ... but it feels like the Shadows of the Past card has been showing up more often! And yeah, the FAQ didn't discuss if being Marked for Death gets you out of prison or not, but it did state Mockingbird was in play, so over she moved. :)
OMFG I wish I watched your play-through first - we are 0-4 against Zola but we kept using reveal effects for minions when we shouldn't have. So Zola's mutate were just pouring onto the battlefield with heavy attachments and thinning out the deck real fast!
Nice. My first game against Zola didn’t go nearly that well. It turns out, though, I made it a lot harder by not paying attention to the little rules like “put in play” not being a reveal and popping off the test counters if they hit 3 outside of the beginning of the villain phase. As a result I was constantly up against teched-up mutates. Couple that with TWO shadows of the past, both obligations, and Hawkeye’s Quiver and both Expert Markman in my final hand of his deck, I didn’t make it past Zola’s stage 1.
@Scot Phelps Oh my! Shadows of the Past showing up for each of your heroes in one game! That's tough! And the "put in play" vs "revealed" is a rule that I overlooked for a while, but it's one that actually works to the heroes benefit. I think Zola is the toughest of them for me and my group. He can put out some big minions that need to be dealt with! Good luck!
I really really like Hawkeye and his abilities. The other hero that I really like is Black Widow and granted I only saw her in play here on your channel but I'm thinking of getting her in near future (so far I only have this expansion and Captain America coming, he's finally in stock in the only store in Zagreb that sells boardgames and associated stuff ;) ). Anyway, I would really like to see how Hawkeye and Black Widow play together, I have a feeling they might be too strong maybe :) Currently my favourite is Dr. Strange, I got him (barely) a few months ago, those heroes are constantly out of stock in my neck of the woods.
@Kristijan Sasilo I didn't expect to like Hawkeye as much as I do ... even more than Spider-Woman after a few plays. His bow and quiver abilities really work great together, unless the bow is on the bottom of your deck. :) Black Widow is a lot of fun too. Probably the only hero I've won by never attacking on my turn, just using her preparation cards along with protection really works well together. And the two of them should be making a team-up for Kang. I've got a RU-vid membership poll going on now, and they are in the lead for a first play against Kang. :) Thanks for watching, and hope your game store gets your games in soon!
@Beat D Game Thanks for watching! Not sure what you're saying here about searching for villain cards and the discard pile, but if I'm doing something wrong I appreciate the help! Can you explain further for me?
Dale the Casual Gamer Sure whenever a card or an event like flipping to Zola stage 2. Says search the encounter deck and discard pile for test subject side scheme. And put it into play. You grab it from the discard pile and I have been making that mistake as well you still have to shuffle the encounter deck even if you didn’t search it
Oh .. I'll claim "casual gamer" on that one. I know the card says to shuffle the deck, but if it wasn't searched ... it's still just as randomized as before. Funny, I think one of the new cards actually states to only shuffle the deck if it was searched. I feel safe in saying that was the intent for all of the cards. :) Thanks! And hope you are enjoying this new set as much as I am!
Also, out of curiosity, are you planning on going to GenCon next year if COVID isn't an issue next year? It would be great to get with you and Red for a game! :) I've only been once, but am hoping to go next year.
Hey dale! When you use Hawkeyes quiver don’t forget to check what the top card is so you know if hulk should attack or not. It’s such a good combo! I use it all the time with my aggression Hawkeye deck
@925 Gamers Thanks! Hawkeye and his bow and arrows are great ... but getting his quiver early to search for more arrows and see the cards you'll be drawing in to is AWESOME!
@YTube Browser Glad you are enjoying the Deck Building section. I will do these for all plays, unless using the pre-constructed decks. Thanks for watching! :)
Still waiting on my red skull to arrive... have you lost against any enemy yet? The team of 4 players i play with pretty regularly very rarely lose, so we are hoping this coming up pack really steps up the challenge.
@OKB Productions I have picked my fights wisely so far. ;) In my play group, we've finished the standard campaign, and have played the first two on expert. Crossbones came close in both plays, and absorbing man wasn't an issue in either play. Taskmaster and Zola were tough in standard for us (a group of 3), and Red Skull was dealt with fairly easily. Experienced players probably should start on expert mode ... but myself and group, like to go through the process. :)
@David Ko I like Ultron's 1 and 2 HP drones much better! ;) I really enjoyed the campaign. I've done it solo on standard mode and with a group of three. We are now going through the campaign on expert mode with the expert campaign options. A lot more tension as you carry over your health from one scenario to the next ... or take an obligation card. Should be fun!! Out side of the campaign, I love the two heroes and they way they work. Hawkeye is much more powerful than I anticipated, and Spider-Woman lives up to what I was hoping. How is your campaign going?
@David Ko I hope your personal health is good and covid just interrupted game shipping! As for the health in the expert campaign mode ... it does add some additional tension in the game, because those extra obligations are to be avoided! Stay well!
