I recall my best friend (r.i.p. /g.t.s.) showed up at school with this. It was Friday. His mom was wild so she let us use the big screen, back in the giant box tv days, ordered pizahut and played this game from 430p to 1p the followin day. He passed away a week after that. This gem will always remind me of him and how much i hated high school. Still delivers the same amazing feels it did bck then.
RIP too you're blood brother. Damn that's rough man, ya always have that time in you're minds eye. I lost contact with my best friend over the years from highschool. Rivial schools is the best game Capcom has ever made. Peace bro
HaHa I thought I was the only one who called it the capcom guitar. Well it's 2020 and Rival Schools Akira is now a street fighter 5 character. God i hope her stage has this track.
I was born in 1994. This was the first game I got on my PS1 in 1999. After more than 2 decades I faintly remembered "school fighting ps1" All those tracks kick me in the soul, jesus, what a life.
Same here, i'm born in 94 too, but i got my ps1 in 2002 ~2003. Here in Brazil, tech arrives late, not much now like was back in 90s or 2000s. And being little late compared from my friends, (they lived more the ps2 era than ps1). But i think i know what you talking I just love everything in this game, the songs, the drawings in loading screen, the character designs, the music from scenarios damm, even the voices was cool asf
Oh man, hearing this original version brings back so many memories. I mean, the Tatsunoko VS Capcom version of this theme is awesome, but the original midi-esque version is simply badass!
This brings back so many memories, i used to play this game with a cousin who died a few years ago, this song reminds me when we were young and play rival schools for hours!
I've never played this game, but listening to the soundtrack, I've gotta say, it's like cocaine for your ears. I can feel an unbridled surge of adrenaline.
@@TheTrueBro My dad bought it for me back in 1997. That was because we passed it up at the game store. Capcom didnt actually advertise this game well in the first place.
The hotbloodeness! The passion! The complete misunderstanding of economics, having a family, responsibilty and finances!! The power of a teenager in a single tune. Love it.
You would think the admins would tell kids to quit fighting and get off the fucking roof only to see that you fight them too. Great fucking game and OST.
I will never forget the day about a year ago when I found this game on the shelf on my local video game store for 7 bucks. I nearly shat myself. It's a damn shame this game and project justice are so expensive to get. Everyone deserves to play these great games in their native form.
@@pekonarukami9984 Estaba buscando esta canción a través de los años y solo había una versión ahsta que ya salieron esta y otras y hasta covers, mi canción favorita del juego. Y en cuanto a éste es excelente, una joya.
One of the first and best 3d fighters.. I think it was one of Capcom's 1st attempt at stepping into the 3d world of fighting games.. in fear of hurting the street fighter brand, they started with this, then polished up the SF EX games as the years went on.. also, because it's been so long, it think Akira from rival schools is looks a lil like Skullomania from SF EX with the biker suit on..
I'd say yeah but they probably will make it shitty like they did re3 remake smfh or they will just ignore all the fans like they have been with remaking dino crisis I know alot of fans have been asking and they just ignore us same as Konami with a metal gear solid remake for ps5 game companies just don't care about the fans and customers who made them who they are today it's a shame
I actually remember getting a copy of this game in 2002 brand new for 20 bucks plus tax and I still have that copy in my personal collection. THough getting a physical copy of Project justice for Dreamcast cost near 100 to 200 USD on Ebay :(
and here I'm in 2017 posting in a 8 years old video a comment that probably no one is going to read. Batsu and any other rival schools characters were not in Marvel vs Capcom 3 not in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 and not in Marvel vs Capcon Infinite or the first season pass... I still hope to heard this awesome theme again in the future and be able to play as my favorite characters again :(
Batsu was in Tatsunoko vs. Capcom but Capcom wasn't responsible for the roster. Shame, Tatsunoko was the first to bring Zero, Batsu, Frank West, Alex, 3D Morrigan Aensland (Capcom never updated her sprite), Viewtiful Joe, and Megaman Volnutt to the crossover games. Capcom took Zero, Frank West, and Viewtiful Joe and updated them and dumped other characters. I personally loved Batsu even better than Ryu in that game and would have loved to see him (Akira was also supposed to be in the game too) and Megaman Volnutt, as well as some PowerStone characters in other crossover games but Capcom doesn't seem interested in anything that has to do with anything that isn't Street Fighter, Megaman, or Devil May Cry right now.
Imagine, this franchise returning after 11 years with enhanced 3d gameplay, tekken-like 3d models...and rock remakes of classic and iconic rival schools theme songs! THAT'S what i want! If you're watching capcom...BRING THIS BACK!!!
still my favourite fighting game even 20 years after, i remember being a stupid 7y.o trying to learn Edge's combos instead of doing maths, i miss Rival Schools so much.
Got a PlayStation Classic and Modded and was able to get this Masterpiece On it! It’s a damn shame it faded into irrelevance Cuz this was Such a Dope Fighter 😭😭
I can't fathem that this game and marvel vs Capcom and x men vs street fighter and all those classic Capcom fighters are going for small fortune's nowadays I would've never guessed that back in the 90s when these were released the days of hollywood video, blockbuster man those were the days 👍
Every Rival Schools fan reading this: buy Akira when she becomes available in Street Fighter V so Capcom get the message that there's a big audience for Rival Schools 3!
Nothing felt better than pullign off tag special move on your buddy, sending him flying eg. with Shoma and Roberto. Hell, those tag moves were so damn cool we enacted them in school during pauses. I remeber running back and forth like Edge with his knife while my best friend pretended he's dying on his knees🤣.
