R9 was more of a playmaker there, very often he would hold up a ball, lure several markets onto him and then aim the pass to R10 making his run into the box
Rivaldo is my favorite player ever. Made me love this game. His shoot technic, power, fake shoot, overkick, his class on the pitch. His performance against united is one of the best in ucl history, and his goal vs Valencia will be remebered as one of the greatest goals of all times
Great, great player. Under-rated. A load of his free-kick goals came from walls that jumped over his shots, or simply parted like the Red Sea for Moses
It's very hard to rank the great Brazilians (Pelé would have to number one IMO) but Rivaldo has to be high up the list. Amazingly unpredictable player.
He was better from Pele! Pele played against farmers, coast guards, army,... He faked over 500 goals in official matches! There was no disrespect to Pele, but his era was weak compared to the Rivaldo era! Top 5 definitely from Brazil !
He was so left-footed he almost had a crab like style to his play, dribbles and movement. Some of his goals were "daisy cutters", he wasn't the cleanest or most powerful strikers of a football but with him it mostly about placement into the corners and outsmarting the goalkeeper.
He's actually scored many rockets from outside the box. And another thing - he often played as a winger, and was capable to score often from that position, but if today left-footed goalscoring wingers play naturally on the right wing, he was scoring with his left foot from.the left wing
Brazil was so great when three genius forwards played in it- Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Ronaldinho! Rivaldo was one of the best in the world from 1996 to 2002! And ofcourse he was best in 1999!
Hardly ever comes up when it comes to great players of that era,a bit like Guti in that respect. Never really in the conversation which is criminal. Absolute Star!
@@thomasarsenal5465 Guti never ever proved to be an amazing player. Even with Spain he hardly played. Tell me you dont know much about football without saying it.
If it wasn’t for El Phenomeno was around the same era Rivaldo would have got a way greater recognition world wide. My man best Brazilian #10 of his generation 🙌
@@allstarwatt7246 here’s the funny part Garrincha was way more talented & the better player in fact THE BEST in that Brazilian squad according to one of the coaching staff in a documentary I watched back around 2005-06 that time & I agree.
@@DR-uq4hn Pele and Garrincha were little peaks into the future. But yes, Pele was more physical and his technique, which was still very good was often exaggerated. The opponents they played had 0 organisation and it's actually shocking watching them not know what to do and dive in 3 at a time after backing off and letting them walk. Yes walk half the pitch.
Always the great forgotten when it comes to Brazilians at Can Barça... My first great idol and in my opinion, (with almost 1.90m tall), the best left foot after Messi and Maradona.
Für mich waren diese Jahre 1980-2010 die prime Zeit von Fußball ❤ jedes Team war voll mit absoluten Weltklassespieler, war eine geile Zeit dazu in meiner Jugend noch auf eurosport eurogoals anschauen
