Orcane isn't in the game yet because his 3D model was very difficult with all the morphing, so they pushed him further back in the development schedule. That's why he wasn't part of the original alpha test. That is straight from the mouth of Youngblood during a live stream on Twitch several months ago. I was there, so this is a first hand account. He said a lot of interesting things in that stream. It was the middle of the night, and I was pumping him for info lol.

I disagree about the "pokemon situation" thing, because recent pokemon games are indeed ass and are only carried by the fact that it's pokemon, while on the other hand, even with all of its defaults SSBU is among the best party game there is.

This is true. Just because Smash Ultimate is a bad competitive fighting game (arguably) that’s not what the designers intended to make

5:01 yea no. Smash players at expecting a Mario Kart 8 situation. We're not expecting a whole new game. We're expecting a port. And hoping the port fixes some things, and balances come stuff

Idk how yall are gonna expect a port when getting the rights for some of these characters were already an arm and a leg for sakurai. I feel like maintaining rights afterward is gonna be too hard

I used to think they were gonna do a Deluxe Edition but it doesn’t make much sense if the Switch is backwards compatible, might as well do more DLC which I don’t think is gonna happen either anyways because adding more fighters to Ult is not sustainable amongst other reasons. I think the most ideal situation is for them to make a new game but prepare the infrastructure to handle being an evergreen title.
