Painfully beautiful. No one can beat his lyricism. He is Art himself. On his MV 3:03 that's what you call "Nakhwanori" or Traditional Korean Firework festival. Joon wants to pay tribute to the Traditional Koreans who still does this. The 'Nakhwa nori' festival is a traditional fireworks display that is held in May to pray for the well-being and good year of the people. This festival originated in the Joseon Dynasty(The ancient Korean dynasty 1392~ 1897, well-known as the backdrop for the Netflix drama Kingdom). Nakhwa Nori is assumed to have begun during the middle of the Joseon Period during the 17th century. The 'Nakhwanori' festival is a beautiful display of fireworks that is sure to amaze and delight spectators. In 'Nakhwa nori', 'Nakhwa' is a Korean word that has the double meaning of falling flowers and falling flames. 'Nori' is a Korean word that means games, festivals, and enjoyment of the scenery. This traditional Korean fireworks festival is also called 'Julbul Nori'. 'Julbul' is the Korean word for string and fire. Nakhwa Nori is a ceremony that is usually done on water, such as rivers or lakes. A paper bag filled with tree bark powder is hung from a tree limb, a roof peaks off the edge of a building, or a riverbank cliff. When the bag is set on fire, the charcoal inside burns away, producing tiny flames all around. The spectacle looks like flames flying across the river, giving rise to its name, Nakhwa Nori, or falling flames. Joon clarified that is not CGI, he had to close his eyes most of the time because it's dangerous for the eyes. Hope you see this comment.

This really feels like a goodbye, all of their solo work does. Im so glad they went on a hiatus because you can really tell how difficult and sad it was for them the last 3 years, now that they can rest and be themselves they can heal through their own music. To me it isnt as important if they're gonna come back as BTS again, but if they are truly happy and in their industry that's hardly achievable, they hide so much from the public, so i want them happy and free, they deserve it. 💜

I always do watch MVs twice, first without lyrics (i'm devouring the visuals first) then with lyrics after, and you know what, i cried watching even without the lyrics, then cried harder after i read it and understood the song. it's namjoon telling his whole story as an artist in one song, his struggles, fears, the pressure and how he just wanted to be himself as he grow older. and i'm just so proud of him for being so brave. i also read a comment that wildflower is also for the people who lost track in life, people who are confused with their life and their purpose. this song tells us that it's fine to fail, to feel pressured, to disappoint ourselves at some point of our lives. what important is we stay grounded and to just ourselves always. wildflower is an epitome of peace.

Good wordplay here. “Fireworks” is 불꽃놀이 in korean, which literally means “playing with fire flowers” , so a lot like 들꽃놀이 (playing with wildflowers). Maybe….he wants to play no longer with flames and fire but wishes to be “grounded” on the open field with “wild” flowers where he can be his raw self.

My interpretation is that he wants to bury his old self and return to his roots ( wild flowers ) He uses several times flowers as a metaphor for himself - like in still life. He dosen't want to be an idol anymore/ on display. He wants to be original/ alive / wild, so he has to step back a little bit and find himself. He also keeps talking about that this album represent his twenties and he is now entering a new fase in his 30's - "a new chapter" in his life. So don't worry the message is the same as it has been all along - they are breaking up/going to the military but they will come back - in a new way.
