Drove a 3.2 Trailhawk today and was completely impressed. It looks and feels much "beefier" than what I expected...and yes, much better looking in person.
I just bought a Trailhawk today actually, in person it looks so much better in person. I was mega impressed with the way it drove and the massive amount of creature comforts! 38 grand well spent!
We bought a Trailhawk 3 days ago and it is an amazing vehicle. It is the 3.2L with all the bells and whistles. I don't know of any other vehicle in this price range that can provide the type of luxury and comfort this car provides and do the things it can do off road.
Love my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 4 x 4 with V6! I wanted the Trailhawk, but it was too expensive, and practically didn't need all the locker stuff etc. I am doing about 25 MPG overall with my V6 option. I love this car especially the front, because of the whiners who also don't like to try anything new. Their loss.
I drove the 2.4 4wd latitude and was impressed with the ride and acceleration. as i have owned three xj cherokees i will be getting the trailhawk with the v 6. And i have owned the Nissan juke too so i like the styling.
Update on my Cherokee. Going on the 2nd Transmission replacement after barely 30,000 miles. I have had mine at the dealer so many times, I think I could work there part time. The Cherokee is so well designed, and packaging is a bit tight, and the ride is terrific. A baby Grand Cherokee is right on. My biggest concern is reliability. It is so poor that I cannot recommend it. The ZF 9HP Transmission is too problematic. I maybe looking FCA buying mine back. I recommend the Grand Cherokee or the Wrangler is you have to go Jeep. The Cherokee, and Renegade are weakended by the 9HP ZF 9 Speed transmission. For that matter the Dart, and Honda's new big SUV uses the same transmission as an option. Don't get that option. You will not be happy.
to everyone thats hating on it please go take a look before you say anything else. just test drove one this weekend and it blew me away. drove well and interior is amazing. besides you cant even see the outside when youre driving
This car looks incredible in person. I work for jeep in the parts section and I will say this people love it thus far and we have 15 people who have prepaid to get it the limited and the trail hawk and more waiting to just see it. Nissan Juke was ugly but you see those everywhere because they have great awd and still get good gas mileage. Nothing will be like jeep use to be because the government changed that for sure but this is far better then some out there that are just plain.
Aerodynamics and fuel economy is the reason why Jeep made the new Cherokee more competitive and ready to take on a Ford Escape, Subaru Forester, Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV-4, and the other usual suspects in the compact crossover segment. By the way, only this Jeep Cherokee (mainly the Trail Rated) and the Subaru Forester will be good off-roading. Cherokee's only downfall? Cargo space, much less than RAV-4 and CR-V, the segment leaders.
I got a chance to see this vehicle in person and it's not that bad looking. Sometimes pictures don't do the vehicle justice. The size of it is deceptive. the price is reasonable for a borderline "tweener"
I saw one at the dealer when my 200 was in for the head restraint recall, he's right, it looks better in person, but I'll keep my XJ. Also gotta agree that it should have been given a different name, like Jeep Eagle, seeing as it's an awd/4wd car and not a SUV or a truck.
Never thought about this until tonight, but since it's based on a fwd platform, I wonder if you can use the parking brake be used off road as a makeshift dig?!
Instead of this being a Cherokee, maybe they should have done a nice stiff unibody wagon with the JK's suspension and 3.6l/8 speed backed by a real t-case, and with the on road manners of the XJ's, and a curb weight closer to the 3500-4000lbs of a mid sized car. That would have something those of us with XJ Cherokee's would buy, not this admittedly capable crossover or a morbidly obese JK! Just think about it, that 3.6l/8 speed combo with the Rubicon T-Case and Axles in a XJ like rig ;D
Alfa Romeo? Nah! it is the Jeep Strada The adaptation of 1978 Fiat Strada to Jeep Cherokee. Even those who produced that front end on Strada/Ritmo couldn't hold onto that front end design and redesigned it into a more sensible one and in 1982 literally had a facelift.
Hopefully buyers will let Jeep know that no one wants it. That or for some unexplainable reason it will be a best seller. Definitely in the Isuzu Vehicross category.
The tiger shark isn't italian. The 1.4l multi air is, it's from the fiat 500 abarth but the 2.4l is American. Still your right, its... Anemic in the jeep, great in the dart, but not the jeep
Meh, bring back the old cherokee. I used to have one that was an old beater and sold it because I needed something nice to haul my daughter around in. I have a trail blazer now, and am selling it to get another cherokee, just a nicer one.
sometimes car company's have to hear and pay attention to people's comments.....this car has not been received well....and they are doing anything to shove it in people's throat, have they not learn from other's car companies mistakes?
Is this what we now get for EPA and Government overreach? Smaller, less power, and gawd-awful styling? Seems to be OK, but less is definitely not worth a higher price tag!
its not that bad looking if they would only shave down the front so it doesnt stick out so much. and design it with a front that can be replaced with a aftermarket bumper. the cherokee will be a flop because of the lack of aftermarket. think about any good true offroader. loads of aftermarket. this...not so much. thats what was so great about the old jeeps simple. boxy and flat. easy to repair and upgrade. if jeep turns away from its roots. offroaders will turn to another company.
