Just got a 04 535i 2 days ago and it feels like it is impossible that the car will ever die....so powerful and smooth to the point I feel like its a *Magical* machine....its fantastic I have to say.
As a collector, I have restored 3 BMW's as well as three others (Porsche and Mercedes) In my opinion BMW's are the best made cars in the world. I currently own five, a 330, 525, 530, M6 and a Z4. All great auto's. One has 272k and one has 312k on the odometer with normal maintenance.
Thinking about purchasing one at my local BMW dealership. Honestly, never driven a more solid, sexy car. This was my first time even sitting in a BMW and I was spoiled from the beginning. Its an 08 model 535i just like this one. Exactly. Its still holding a $42,000 sticker too haha
To be able to shift gears without the whole concept of a culch, you can choose between automatic or you can shift gears with pedals behind the steering wheel or your shifter.
agreed :) I still hesitate to change my E39 with M-package for newer 535 biturbo.. I wish they could leave old E39 style and kinda upgrade the technology inside :)
fuck thats a strong value even in todays market. Theres a lot of cars i would choose for that much money, but you're right, few of those cars have the ride quality, solidness, performance, and handling of this 5 series. Just wish it wasn't so sought after.
because in EUROPE fuel prices are damn high. Plus highways are not like highways in the US. 7 lanes!! I remember till 01 in England you could find a 718i I was shocked. :)
did he say 5-door sedan? lol. The 5-series is a wonderful car. The E60 is the first 5-series that i actually think it better than the Mercedes E-class rival. Ive always preferred the E-class till now.
bigcalihero, as much as a BMW enthusiast that I am, the 5-series got the worst crash rating test, from the sides. Being when the car is T-Boned. Not in general. the occurance rate of being t-boned, isnt as high as the risk for crashing head on. however, this does not mean that BMW should not try to improve it.
