Sitting in a parking lot watching this. One of my very favorite songs of theirs and this version is amazing. I STILL get chills, tears, so many competing emotions. This is why I love Nightwish so much.

I've always liked the part where Floor says, "Wembley let's go!!" and this morning I realized she's doing it wrong! There's no air horn pull! Biggest pyro they did as fas as im concerned was with the Tampere show especially for the The Greatest Show on Earth bit, that's a 20-minute epic that you'll enjoy watching but I think and I know you also think that you're not ready for that song yet if you really meant it when you said you're not doing Poet and the Pendulum yet. Just saying that big pyro-wise, Greatest Show On Earth at Tampere is the one.

When "Song Of Myself"??

I'm stuck at home with a cold and rewatching your reactions. Hearing you talk about fire marshals brought back a fun memory! One year I was attending Tuska Open Air (metal festival in Helsinki, Finland) and I was about to see Sonata Arctica perform on the main stage. I was waiting for the show to start when I see someone I know on the side of the stage. My godfather is a fire marshal in Helsinki and he was there, obviously to check the band's pyros. I wasn't expecting to see him there talking to their crew members and because I was at the front, I decided to wave at him. He happened to notice me, waved back, and then got a wave from the rest of the crowd as well! I don't know why I wanted to share this, just a memory that makes me smile each time. Anyway, I really appreciate these reactions and all the little facts you share with us :)

Hey Tank, Me again. Found a song done by Both Tarja and Floor as a duo shortly after Floor joined Nightwish. It's called "Over the Hills". You can hear both of their distinctive styles. They were long time friends and Tarja had her join her on stage for this one-off. Love your Nightwish Wednesday!

I like watching voice coaches react and analyze Floor's singing, I like to watch Chase for analyzing the music, and Tank for the insight into what goes on behind the scenes. I also like to watch Natemares and Suite Clarity for their reactions. All of these combined give me a whole new appreciation for Nightwish and their team.

You're right, it does start off middle of the road and it wasn't really until that live version that I started to appreciate the song a lot more. But it is Nightwish, so I should have known. It is inspired by 'Wolves of the Calla' from the Stephen King Dark Tower books. I love those books too, so it was one of those cool intersections of fiction and music favs.

Dead Boy’s Poem live in Buenos Aires. In fact, nearly every track from that show ends with the crowd chanting, “Floor! Floor! Floor!”

I love that they tied visual aspects from Wolves of the Calla to this performance - the horses in the background are the grey horses that the “wolves” ride when they come into town, and I think the sudden pyro reflects the gunfight/battle that happens after that ride, just like in the book. I love Stephen King and Nightwish!

Question for you Tank, I have always been impressed by how much string bending Emppu does in his solo here and I have always been curious if it is because he uses very light strings or if you think it is just from years of practice strengthening his fingers. To be honest it's worth watching the entire Wembley show but Shudder Before The Beautiful is a great show opener. Like others have said Yours Is An Empty Hope, and The Poet And The Pendulum are a must. Yes. This was recorded for the Vehicle Of Spirit Live DVD / CD. The DVD contains a bonus DVD of the Tampere show.

What blows my mind every live video of NW, Floor is the only one in the band under 40, but just barely... and they throw down like they’re early 20s! Marco is like 54 or 55 ffs!!! But I’m 47 and still the reigning windmill champ in my circle, so I guess you can go hard for as long as your body cooperates. 😁 But Nightwish??? They’re just fckn magical beasts from the beating heart of Valhalla.
