I bought the new Suzuki Jimny! I got a medium grey manual GLX spec Jimny, one of about 50 in South Africa. B007 as a photographer, sometimes I need to transport lots of equipment, and I have no doubt that being able to fold everything flat is going to be really helpful!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. This car looks awesome and the colour is just spot on. In the Uk they have orders for 4500 of these vehicles but only 1800 per year are coming here. Its going to a long wait.

I’m seriously jealous. We’re not getting them here in North America and this is the first new vehicle in a very long time that I have been excited for and I can’t even own one. Also, out of all the videos I have watched, you are the first one to put the front seats all the way down. I didn’t even know they did that.

@@bryanpaynter7406 It was actually just a light rubber mat that the dealership gave me with the vehicle. Just to stop stuff from flying around the back :P It works really well though.

it's in T&T now! Lifestyle Motors got about 5 in their inaugural shipment, with 3 already sold I think. But as worldwide demand tapers off, we should be getting more units.

Amazing car! Can you make a test video for us? I know there lots of but no detailed one. How bad is rear leg room? What is like to drive? Is it feels ultimate slow? How about torque? Is it feel that less etc...

im 6'3" and can fit in the back seats, and have lots of head room. It doesnt feel very slow to me, but I dont drive fast... I enjoy driving it. Its a small vehicle and very light, so it has enough torque, but was very good offroad.

Yup, the South African spec vehicles don’t have those features! It’s crazy hey, but I think it’s why we got them sooner than a lot of countries.

@@DanSlotea I just did some research: Suzuki has stopped selling car in the US due to bankruptcy (U.S unit). I remember back in 1991 I still saw the Suzuki Samurai on the road but not anymore.

scotty web it’s a glossy flat grey, I believe the black is actually more of a really dark metallic blue. But maybe they have done an actual black now. I have it on my wing mirrors, it’s very nice.

I have a friend who is getting 15km/L on his on the highway, I get about 12-11km/L with the bigger tyres

I am gonna buy it also, but I must wait for it come to my nation market. I am wonder if you can insulate the Jimny. I tried one in Germany and it was too noise. I didn’t expect that. Will you be doing insulation on yours car?

m3lcz1k I don’t find the car that noisey, so I won’t be doing any extra insulation. I did also take the GLX version so maybe has some extra sound deadening

I went by the GLX version of it. The seller was speeding on 4L up to 60 km/h so maybe they broke that down already. That noise was heard even on 2WD but lower. Insulation will help you to keep heat in the car. I am gonna do it for it also - I will sleep in the car and tow a off-road mini trailer. Is the Suzuki offering independent heater already?

That’s completely up to your preference bud; I chose the manual because i like to be able to chose exactly when I want the power and it makes it abit easier to control fuel consumption.

I find my grand vitara 2.0 petrol manual gutless on road hills, good in 4 th but poor in 5th. On steep hills down to second. Hoping jimny better as lighter vehicle

Grant Muir eventually I think they will. The waiting list for Japan is about 3 years now 😂 and in South Africa its about 6months to a year. I think they might have to temporarily open up a new factory just to increase supply. I know they’ve said to stop marketing the new Jimny because the demand is too high. Sounds like a great problem to have 🤣

Yes, it appears there are emissions issues for beyond 2020 in Europe too! Maybe only post-Brexit UK will get them! There will be one benefit of Brexit then! 😂😂

I was averaging 13.3km/L with very easy driving. now since I've put on the new tyres its at 12.7lm/L
