I rarely leave a comment. But sir you really made me connected to this effort to praise your work, your love towards wonderful explorations and really livin a true life. Someday I will try to have one Jimny and live my life of Roam Overlanding.
This channel is not just the adventure experience but the Jimny that carries you with it. I think if you ever change a vehicle it may not have the same effect or it will be a completely new experience altogether.
I think it has definitely been a key part of this channel up until now, but I also cant be the Jimny guy forever. The vehicle still needs to make sense for my life at the end of the day. But I understand where you're coming from. I did a livestream where I chatted about the next build in depth and what I want to achieve from the channel going forward ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UfjzrG5wG88.html if you feel like gaining a bit more perspective on where my head is at!
I think I was crying a little in this video because of the Jimmy that buld a solid foundation for the chanell and with out the Jimmy the channel won't be as big as it is now also this is where like my hoody say roam overlanding begun the channel I have been watching for two three years now and waiting week after week for new videos. Thank you for everything The Jimmy wil ride more roads with a new daddy That will be the Jimmy's daddy but not his father😢😌
Yes you can sense the final stages and somewhat like watching your favorite series. The emotion is building up and has to reach a conclusion. But with new changes come new experiences.
man you are the best overlander! Suzuki has to sponsor you because the alot of people loves Jimny because of you! This is a shout out from the U.A.E-Dubai !! #Suzuki @Suzuki
Fantastic setup. Being able to take advantage of that unused space behind the rear windows adds so much to the vehicle. I have a Pajero and, like you, want to take out the existing rear windows and substitute a gull wing setup. Just have to find someone who can do it.
that's a good selling price, perhaps on the low side (in Europe the JB74 is in real short supply due to the emissions issues imposed and their resale is above the list price), excellent development on the gullwing with BushTech. all the best on your new endeavours
Thanks Peter, due to COVID’s impact on our economy in SA lots of people have canceled their orders and there seems to be a bit of new stock floating about, so getting top dollar right now is a bit tricky
You can, either used or wait a bit it'll be soon sold as 2 seater commercial truck. It's more of a mini G-wagen or landcruiser, you can't get the doors and roof off on a Jimny, plus the the design is more similar to those.
These are incredible! Such a great way to make more room in the Jimny! Just wanted to say I’ll still support the channel once’s you’ve sold the little Jimny
Really awesome stuff. I wonder if the gullwing can be reversed, opening down and used as a tiny table for electronics/coffeemaking, etc. I'm very tempted to switch my grand vitara 2006 for the awesome jimny, but we'll see.
Does Bushtech have dealers in Australia or is self install of the drawer and fridge slide an easy do it yourself job. I have a new 2022 Jimny but I am 79 years of age. I really like the fact that you can leave the rear seats in place. Dave H. Adelaide South Australia.
Hi Adrian. This is just awesome! I think I need to contact Bushtec to find out if they are willing to do the same development for the pre 2020 Jimny. I am actually dreaming of using these compartments to store two 10 liter jerry cans [one on each side]. Not sure if that is possible, but I believe this could be a winner. Keep up the good work and good luck with your next project.
My Gull wing setup would have internal lights and power sockets for charging Hand held radio, gps, detector batteries, torches, CO2 monitor and razor etc charged. Just a thought.
I guess keeping there recovery gear is a little bit dangerous. Imagine if you're driving in some narrow road. From one side is a "rock wall" (like in Billy Goat Jim's recent video Cut Rock Road - Watagans). You might get so close to that rock wall, that it would be impossile to open the window. I guess kitchen stuff and charging station is better.
@@RoamOverlanding de nada a ti. por compartir con nosotros lo que se le puede hacer en cuando a modificación a nuestros vehículos y de como disfrutarlos más gracias de nuevo saludos desde Chile 😁😁😁😁😁😁💪👍
Those gull wing doors look great. But wouldn’t it be better to have the doors opening down rather than up, so that you can utilise the doors as a work surface ?
Roam Overlanding thanks for your reply, we don’t have a dust problem in the UK, just water and lots of it. When I watch ASPW videos, he’s always making sure everything is dust proof. 👍👍
Brilliant additions; I've one question (did I miss this?) why did you put the 'window box' on the passenger side? I would think that placing it on the driver's side would have prevented the blind spot you now have, when looking over your shoulder. More sales potential in LHD countries than RHD?
Hey David, we have designed for both windows. And have added an extra mirror to the side view mirror to give visibility of the blind spot 👌🏻 I have it on that side because the awning is that side. If I wasn’t going to sell the vehicle I would have both installed. 👍🏻👍🏻
Have you considered installing the hatch upside down and fitting it with two support levers rather than the single gas spring so it can double as a small table (i.e. to accommodate a portable gas stove and a pot)? Seems to me this way it’d be a bit more practical with the field kitchen setup.
Hahha Vadim you are right to suggest that. The reason we didn’t do that is to to ensure a better dust and water seal, but maybe with some future testing we can find a way to get the best of both for that design 👌🏻
Will it fit a 60 litre Engel ? Reaching out from Sydney Australia. My wife is SAF and wants all the SAF bits on her new car including wildog. Pretty hard to get a simple quote delivered to Sydney, Aus. Regards Sean
I had the same thought. Having it on the passenger side is accessible from the "footpath" side of the vehicle but creates a larger blind spot. The Jimny is all windows and the mirrors are good so shouldn't be a huge issue if your a observant driver.
We have a design for left and right 👌🏻 I have mine there because my awning is on that side 👍🏻 if I was keen g the Jimny I would have both sides with gullwings and boxes
Hi Adrian from New Zealand. I've looked on the Buch tech site and the Australian partner and it doesn't say anything about suzuki mods, are these mods still regarded as custom mods or will this change ie be listed as jimny mods? I'm hoping the Australian store will ship to NZ!!
Hi there Peter, the best thing to do right now is pre order with Bushtech. We are sending the pictures and everything out to all the dealers this week, this is FRESH off the press 👌🏻
Hey Rudi, you can head over to bit.ly/BushtechCanopies to check out the pricing, its on the home page. Then pop them a mail on Sales@bushtech.co.za to get a quote for shipping etc!
Good question; it’s harder to keep the door sealed from water and dust ingress when you’re fighting against gravity like that. It was more important to keep water and dust out of the vehicle/cupboard 👌🏻
We did explore this as an option, but preferred the current method for ensuring a tight seal against dust and water. However a drop down table might be in development too 👌🏻
definitely not; get in touch with Bushtech Directly and make sure the installations were done correctly. Their service is incredible and if there is a problem they would definitely make sure its sorted and you are happy.
@@RoamOverlanding Thank you so much. I am planning to attach a small liftable box to the trunk of my JB 23. If you could give me your mail /Whatsapp/viber I can send you my plan. Really hard to decide the damper I am gonna need.
It’s always possible to put in the glass again if not 👌🏻 but this is definitely a fantastic upgrade, been using it the last week and it’s a life changer! 👌🏻
If you werent selling it, you should have supercharged it for a little more power for the little extra weight , cant imagine there would be many supercharged jimnys out there
funny enough Supercharging was never on my list, and probably still wouldnt be :P It's not really what I am about. But the Jimny still pulls its way around town with spirit!
After this time how do you find the ko2s? Do you believe it is a good choice? If I put this size (215/75r15) on a 15x7 wheel do you think it will be better?
I think there are better tires for the Jimny. The BFG is too hard and heavy. Try the General Grabber AT3, you can keep the stock Tom for 215/75/15 doesn’t need to be bigger
Hey Graydon, good question! I will definitely be getting a lot of support in terms of getting the products for the next build. I am very fortunate that I get to work with all the companies on my Dreamlist! Some of the companies we also work with for doing development of new products etc.
Wow, now that is living the dream man. You have come up with a master idea and get to experience all. Well done. I will miss the Jimny but am also keen to see what you come up with and where you go.
Good vid 👍 I think its a mistake getting rid of the very vehicle that help you make the channel. I mean how many thousands of ppl subbed just because of the jimny? Awsome video/editing skills aside
Look buddy, it hasnt been an easy decision to make please dont think I havent considered everything already. I have explained my reasons in my Livestreams for making this decision. I hope that everyone wont leave, and that some people will hang around and follow the next build and adventures, because the philosophy of the show will be the same, just with a different vehicle. But I hear everyones concerns! Hope you good bud!
I am sure your channel will continue to grow 👍 But you have the best channel on youtube for the jimny by far. Its a shame to lose that unique edge. All the best mate i will miss the jimny. I will stick around 👍
Thanks brother! Will be good to see some familiar faces in the comments section on the new build, its going to be damn fun. Check out this livestream I did where I explain whats going to be coming up. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UfjzrG5wG88.html
Yeah but then he wouldn't have a channel this popular... Do you know how many ppl subbed because of his choice of car? With those other cars he would be lost in the crowd and boring..
@mcrcfly ; I didnt buy the Jimny to get a popular channel, I didnt have any expectation of youtube when I wanted this vehicle. I just loved the look of it and wanted to own it, just like many other people. It inspired me to do something crazy and fun, and I think I accomplished that, and had a great time while doing it.
Pieter, you are a meme lord! I proper chuckled there!! But if the Jimny is the Ring of Sauron, I dont want to be Smeagle! I dont want the Jimny to be the only thing that defines me, its a really tricky thing, but it causes anxiety to thing that if I dont have the Jimny I will lose everything I worked so hard to build. I need to rip off the band-aid now if I am ever going to be free of that feeling, and if it all fails then so be it, but I wont be controlled by the power of the Jimny! :D
@@RoamOverlanding Haha! I'm happy that I made you laugh :) I completely understand your analogy and I think you have a good point. Just sad because as I can remember correctly you said once in your videos that you would like to keep the Jimny for one day you will like to give it to your kids but Life must go on and new ventures need to be conquered so I understand. I don't think you will lose everything I just think that you need to think carefully about what you are going to do next because there is a fork in the road at the moment. In my opinion, I think you should do exactly the same thing that you did with the Jimny from buying it to planning to slowly and surely improve upon it with time while going through adventures and you should keep on creating content as you do, because its awesome. Might I recommend the next adventure for you to have a look at? (Maby create a whole youtube series out of it) I don't know if you have heard of this but I think this is quite awesome! www.putfootrally.com/ www.putfootrally.com/the-rally/ They have a 'take any vehicle that you have rally' and a 4x4 one I think you should look into the 4x4 one. best of all most of the money they make goes to charity.
