Also, thankyou BN, for being one of those instruments/ medium through which these waves of brutal conversations can be aired. We need more of these, honest; unbiased and unfiltered, if we must emerge victoriously as a United Nation and be taken seriously by the World. There has never been a moment than now, where we need true South African patriots who's eyes see the wrongs/rights happening in this Country, with no colour/race/gender or political constituency. I am however deeply concerned that White South African Community and the entire South African Community is not bothered that Corporate SA ie Banks/ Auditing Companies/ Multinationals/ Law furms etc are not mentioned in this huge crime scene, as if this corrupt Government is fornicating alone. Let's take for example, the failed BEE / BBBEE, an instrument which was meant to address the wrongs of the past, but both Black and White South Africans teamed up to rob this Country and all her Citizens of reconciliatory conquests posts racist regime, as they each looked out for their individual pockets / friends and relatives, and cared less about the impact their selfish actions/decisions will have on entire economy. BN and Rob, the current system has not found even half the number of these offenders or real benefiaries of this crime, let alone jailing them. If the entire system overwhich we operate in this Country is programmed to selectively favour individuals as opposed to the Country, how do we expect the Country to progress without crimes, nor any Leader Lead. The question, SAcans need to, ask deeply and honestly is, with all our 300% of effort / overall intellectual capacity ie education/ academics/ intelligence /wisdom / knowledge / insight and understanding, how did we land up in this mire, secondly is it a Person or a System that has unleashed on us this (political + economic + social) pain or exactly what is our problem ( Problem facing this Country and all Citizens ?) Currently, the mirror tells us all, it doesn't matter who we elect to lead, however intelligent that candidate is, will fail, not because he/she is weak, hopeless or stupid but because of political system that doesn't favour a peace and prosperous United South African Community. My Dear SAcans, the future is very bright when we are unbiased and very honest with ourselves, but most importantly, Leadership we so hunger for, accross all leadership spectrum, is in the hearts, minds and hands of those who see us South Africans as neither white nor black but one Nation that has a bad yesterday that needs to be addressed properly today, for tomorrow to remain bright. We need to completely let go of race / colour/ gender politics and engineer politics of the Country. We need a new political/economic frame or system, the kind that breathes life to all South Africans, it is to our good to do so. Given that Financial Power and Political Power in this Country is in different camps ( water and oil), maybe just maybe the way out of this conundrum is both bulls to trust execution of Country's mandates to nonpartisan, results driven, ethical professionals who love this Country with all her People ( true SAcan patriots... all colours/races/gender ). The challenges we face today as a World Citizens, demand that we work together, but most importantly UNITED. Politics or Political parties have failed dismally in uniting us, therefore we have to be seriously handicapped to think any political party is capable of executing what is right for all without any capturing/ bias. All Political Parties combined must co create policies / politics that will harmonise this Country not for one term but for all terms/generations , policies commited to solve problems of this Country ( addressing directly all crimes as opposed to individuals; enabling equal opportunities to be alive, well and succeed for all Citizens ). Then Professionals will execute, Projects/all deliverables according to Country mandates/ policies without any interference. All Money "holders/ owners", must approve and fund the politics/ policies/ projects that favour this Country and all Citizens. Let us all be alive, well and healthy, no business/project/money should be more important than any one Citizen. Let us choose projects that serve our longetivity, not early graves or instant deaths. With this approach, we would never be held hostage, as a Country by any Party as the history and present suggests. Life will carry on. It is possible and doable, especially if 10% of the fiscus is shared equally accross top 3/5/7 political parties to appoint their own corrupt, inept people, and get performance measured annually like any business, should they fail, budget gets reduced according to how they performed compared to their political counterparts.

I agree with much of what Rob says and appreciate his grit for speaking out, but there are two major concerns I have... One, that the vast majority of South Africans don't know what's going on, nor understand why it's wrong and cannot work. Two, that the EFF (or similar) will gain ground in the absence of the ANC. So really what I'm saying is that we simply have too many ignorant people in SA!

So the Z report has come out, so now what? I'm sure most of the country is wanting arrests. There's so much talk and discussion going on in SA., hardly any effective, law abiding action. If my understanding of what the brilliant investigator, Paul Sullivan has said, there is so much (of his) evidence that was not considered in many of the cases/reports, I wonder if these cases can be successfully prosecuted in the courts, such as they are??

By the time they are out, they're going to leave scraps for us. My wife and I decided to immigrate. We moved to Austria, because we are too young for this. Unrewarded optimism is defeating. I had to think about my family. I'm a black Eastern Cape boy. Immigration was the last thing on my mind, and they made it possible.

I am not a supporter of the ANC. I have read enough about the history of former national liberation movements in power, their corruption, self-enrichment, and the mismanagement of their countries. But I don't agree with this notion that in a so-called democracy the good people are the ones who agrees with you or who are ordained to rule South Africa. Again, I am not against John Steenhuisen as a person and politician, but I think that this view that Steenhuisen and his DA party are among those who form the alternative to the ANC to rule South Africa is for now merely a pipe dream that will not become a reality in our lifetime. The problem of South Africa is not only the leaders of the ANC who are heavily involved in corruption and mismanagement of the country, but also the black masses who have been voting for them since 1994 even when the writing is on the wall that the ANC has lost its moral compass and its days in power are numbered.

By numbers I mean that the intelligent minds of SA are plentiful but do they outnumber the other minds sitting in rural areas? Too many not up to date on the truth of Zondo commission and too many still tilling the land and tending to their cattle and goats. That means, without being insulting that millions and millions will line up at polling stations and the only sign they know is ANC. The rural people to mind are not being educated in the SA horror matters going on. So many do not understand what change will bring. I lay the blame for people in SA not having an alternative party to vote for or move to - squarely at Helen Zille’s door. She’s without doubt the best mayor Cape Town ever had. Her struggle credentials are excellent. BUT. Saffas do not like her and they never will. As long as she pulls the strings at the DA - it will never be a viable opposition. Period.

So encouraging to hear this, but at what point do we take on the unions, like Maggie Thatcher did back in the early 80's? This seems to me that we have to get on top of this issue in order to truly move forward.
