Legendary Canadian ultrarunner Rob Krar has joined forces with the Movember Foundation to raise awareness of the crisis in men’s mental health. Rob became a star in the ultra-long-distance running world after winning second place in his first 100-miler in 2013. But, his biggest struggle isn’t running 100 miles. For Rob, Movember is far more personal.

Depression is SO painful, mine is mainly triggered by social anxiety. I used to cope by smoking marijuana and drinking a lot, now I run. Running has given me so much strength and confidence, eternally grateful. Feel so much for anyone going through depression ✊

Excellent video content! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you tried - Lammywalness Erase Depression Guide (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a good one of a kind guide for beating depression fast without the normal expense. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my mate after many years got cool results with it.

There is a mountain of medical evidence showing how running and cardiovascular exercise in general rewires the brain in so many good ways. I went without running recently for a few weeks and felt just awful. Everyone stay strong and stay active.

His lady sounds like a real keeper. A partner struggling with mental illness can challenge a relationship. I hope he’s managing himself well and I hope they’re still together.

Thank you Rob, I've been in a depression for 5 years with some hallucinations diseases, that was hard, I didn't give up but I were close to... Almost two years ago I've started running with a team in my college, that helped me a lot but something was missing. I was seeing other athlete living a life full of hapiness, they are simple, joyfull and kind. I thought that it was impossible for me to get fit as much as the others athletes because of that and I was looking at myself like *why im not like that? Why do I go to dark place for no particular reason, why I experience this pain while other are happy* I was and I am so different from them, I found that hard too, but mid-2018 I fell on you on the internet and I understood that it's ok to feel bad, but that doesn't mean I can't do great things and that I can't be happy. I've learned that it's ok to be different. So thank you for being here and show to the world that mental illness isn't a wall that can't be broke. Now i'm not afraid and I've learned how to make my biggest flaw my motivation and my determination. (English is a second language for me so sorry about all the mistakes)

Siberio B I like your perspective, you identify that it’s ok to feel bad. You choose to embrace the hardship instead of running from it. You have learned how to turn a loss into a win. I’ve been struggling with myself, telling myself that I’m ok when I know I’m not. I lie to myself in the hope that i could somehow speak happiness into existence. It’s 3am and I’ve just been sitting in my car for the last 3 hours thinking. I’m going for a run now. Thank you for sharing your point of view.

Rob, your video is literally me. I face the same spectrum of lows..including that. I wish I could have a seemingly endless/ breezy happiness that those around me seem to have. Running is my therapy and gives me control where otherwise in life it seems I dont. I'm happy you talk about it and make it a little more possible for others to open up. I've seen this at least 10 times. You make a difference in peoples lives.

Running, hiking, just walking has helped me to cope with my life, it was the best thing i did for myself to start running. I felt for a long time this worthless pointless just want to dissapear feeling, but now I have it under control and I can even control my social anxieties. Thanky you Rob for shareing this, these kind of videos is another thing that pull me through.

I am 49 and my depression has been extra bad these last 4 months. It’s truly terrifying and I’m barely holding on. I’ve tried different therapies and meds but I realise it’s down to me yet its made worse by insomnia, is there anyone reading this who can relate to having insomnia and therefore it makes your depression worse because you can’t think straight?

So important to hear if from a bad ass ultra runner. I am a fan of Joe Rogan but his stance on depression, which is pretty much "you just gotta workout bro" is way too simplistic. I have been a healthy athlete my entire life yet the clinical blues have haunted me since my early twenties. Staying active is just one of the many tools for addressing this epidemic.
