I hate to say but the Russell Wilson contract debacle with Denver was the best thing that happened to the QB market. Outside of Patrick Mahomes all of the other QBs are completely overpaid. To be 25% of the team’s salary cap is insane.

Dak is NOT a franchise quarterback, Dak plays quarterback for a franchise. A big difference. Jerry may have finally realized Dak is not going to be the reason the Cowboys win a Superbowl. No one is going to pay him $60 million per season and he nevers wins a big game.

The Cowboys should move on from Dak at the conclusion of his contract, see what they have in Trey Lance, and draft a QB in the mid rounds to compete. Also, they should use the money they would have spent on Dak, and put it towards resigning Parsons and Lamb longterm.

I think we are witnessing Jerry Jones' wrath. This last season was the best chance to go far in the playoffs and they choked at home against a 7th seed with rookie QB. The Cowboys had a chance to get coaches (Belichek, Harbaugh) yet nothing. Wonder if Jones is thinking "I spent millions trying to win Super Bowls but not even a championship game? I'm tired of hearing how Dak had a great year in 2023; best year of his career. They played trash cans for the entire year. How did Dak play against 49ers, Eagles (before they disappeared), Buffalo? When the other team had the ability to stop the run, take away the 5 yard pass and rush Dak, he fell apart. Guess what, those are the teams in the playoffs. Dak is good QB, but needs to be elevated by o-line and running game. He/himself does not elevate others; therefore he doesn't deserve the top pay.
