for simplicity purposes, we should just decide whether a super team is a super team by the number of all star selection each players had throughout their career. i’d say if you have more than 15 or 20 combined all star appearances you have a super team. ie 3 players that have been selected more than 5 times as all star definitely should be considered super team

They have one superstar (Tatum), star (brown), can be a star any given day (holiday and the unicorn) and a bunch of SOLID role players (horford, white). Not your traditional super team but is more than enough to win a chip

This is why people are taking about Ant over him. He has the pedigree, the look and the occasional game to be the face of the NBA but he has zero “dawg” in him. It’s not a knock on him. He is just too nonchalant about losing and picks and chooses when he wants to actively dominate a game. He is not taking a shot at the media with his comments. His performance in the playoffs and the Celtics home win/loss record speaks more than his “jab” at the press. He is a great dude, upstanding citizen, model player but his “actions” say none of this is personal. That’s not “face of the league” material to “me”.

I am a life long Celtics fan and this team is certainly not a super team. More like a great regular season team against lesser talent and big time jokers when it matters. Tatum and Brown are way overrated. If this team is not hitting 3s or get behind, especially late in the game they fold. They live and die with the 3 and have no plan B. I blame that on poor coaching. Larry Bird was a super star, he would be like “ give me the F ball and get on my back” I wish what I feel was not true but they are winning nothing. Also home court means nothing to this team. That can’t even show up for their fans at home. Screw this team. I would have moved on from Brown after last season.

The Celtucs are 100% a super team. You have Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, Derrick white and Porzingis and are very, very good players. Jaylen Brown can even be the best player on the Celtics and Derrick White is averaging 21 points. And remember Porzingis was supposed to be the 3rd guy but he's the 4th guy now. Jrue Holiday was the 2nd option on the Bucks but now he's like the 6th option. Yes, that's a super team.

To me, a super team is a team that has 3 stars who would be the best player if they each had their own seperate team. So I agree with Tatum that Boston is not a super team based o by my own definition. BUT I disagree with Tatum's logic that individual awards and accolades like MVP, coach of the year, etc have anything to do with whether or not a team can be considered a "super team" or not. Awards have zero to do with defining a team as a super team. I can agree with him that Boston isnt a super team, but damn they shouldn't be losing by 20+ at home either. That's the biggest issue I have with Tatum's statement. You aren't a super team but you are talented enough to not get embarrassed by Cleveland. That's crazy to me.

As a Celtic fan I wish Tatum had half the mindset guys Anthony Edwards, brunson or even Mitchell has. Seems Tatum doesn't have that dog. And I haven't heard any media people calling Celtics a superteam. Plenty have said they SHOULD be the favorites but we need to see it in the big games, not blowing a 2-1 finals lead or going down 0-3 to a #8 seed and then choking in game 7 on your court .
