Can someone other than the great guys over at the Total Soccer Show please set some realistic expectations for who the new manager could be? I would love to get Klopp or one of these other world class guys but the reality is, that’s more than likely NOT going to happen. The USSF isn’t made out of money like a lot of people seem to think and this job isn’t as enticing as some people seem to think, otherwise we would have had bigger names linked to the job before Berhalter’s second go around. I’d love to be proven wrong, but let’s get real.

Klopp has said in the past he'd be open to coaching Germany or the USA. I don't think it's has unrealistic as people think

It was like you said more like a hypothesis, ofc klopp is not likely going to end up at the US, mainly because he was also speculated to be the coach for his own nation, but you gotta pitch it to him, cuz berhalter aint getting yall anywhere, and it can be south africa vibes, group stage exit in 2026 could literally kill most of the interest for the sport in the country, on the other hand, a good showing could elevate the sport to another level, so it is valid, i would try and poach Rangnik, he is a professor and a hard guy when it comes to culture changing, has good ideas and doesnt cost much.

I dont think Gregg Bethalter is better at coaching than Peter Vermes, Hugo Perez or Gio Savarse. The last three though don't have a brother that works /worked for USSF. Stop the grift, mediocrity and ol bhoys network.

Jose Mourinho, though not very popular after recent club fallouts, would be an excellent national coach for a 2yr stint… we need his “heritage” philosophy for our players, directors, and fans. However, Definitely far fetched to think we can get Jose or other big names such as Klopp. All our realistic options have their flaws but hard to imagine worse than Gregg right now. Realistic options that have some tie to US Soccer: -Thierry Henry (little experience and poor performances in his coaching stints) -Pellegrino Matarazzo -Hugo Perez -David Wagner -Pochettino? Allegri?

Klopp made $15m/yr at Liverpool. Mourinho makes $11m/yr at Fenerbahce. Pep makes $21.6m/yr at City. Berhalter and the USWNT Coach make $2.3m/yr. None of them would want the job. We are #1 in GDP not #1 country in soccer prestige.
