Perfect example of bringing the goofy shit that goes on in the writers room out to the stage. Conan and to an extent Letterman had to teach the audience that this kind of absurdity AND the rote, by the books celebrity interview could exist together on one show. Smigel is an underrated genius.

I'd be willing to bet $100 that Louis and Robert were told to write something for an Adam Sandler guest appearance. This was how they made sure he played the part he deserved while still playing to his style.
The best part of this sketch is how badly the dog wants away from Loui. It's the most Louis CK thing that could have happened aside from him shitting his pants

Oh wow Conan you handsome devil. I LOVED the set during this time on the show. I wish he had not changed it so soon. Conan is awesome, but this show was not like anything else I had ever seen with the comedy and the quirky guests. It was the best.

SOO glad I never saw this humorless, non-starter back in the day or I might have made a point of avoiding their brilliant work over the years. But my gladness is smothered by the pain of now having seen it.

HS, that was Louis CK on Conan. I used to watch this when I was in High School in the mid 90s (it was on at 2:35am where I lived). I remember the red head guy from the skits but it never occured to me that was Louis CK; he looks so much different now.
