It's exactly what the OCP wanted Robocop 2 to be, not a rightful policeman but an obedient mercenary, their only mistake was thinking they could control his bloodlust and deadly addiction. Also you can notice how apologetic she was about violent criminals from the beginning, thinking her psychology degree gave her some kind of expertise and she could do no wrong ever. Those are two themes that are not far at all from reality, greedy and corrupt corporations making deals with mercenary deathsquads (coff coff banana republics) and self-entitled bureaucrats that think their possition in a government or a private company gives them some kind of expertise or enlightenment in certain topics and everyone else should listen to them without any kind of skepticism.
@Telios Abraxas I wonder how accurate that is. I imagine it is blown out of proportion more then we think but in all honestly it really is irrelevant. Divide and conquer needs to end..Race this , sex this..in the end the only ones who care and constantly bring this up in America are the true racist/sexist ones
@@domgg58 - This movie set a new standard for technology and action. They do not make them like this now. Some call Robo a B film..they can kiss my arse.
@@decespugliatorenucleare3780 literally any AT weapons or high explosive developed over the last 50 years could take it out since a heavy walker is an impractical war machine that could easily be disabled by targeting it's legs.
You are right -- in the vast majority of modern films kids aren't allowed to be killed -- but there are a few exceptions such as The Quiet Place which was released this year.
First of all, that mini-gun on his arm is only about 7.62mmX51mm NATO or at the max could be .50 BMG 12.7mm. Even with armor piercing tungsten carbide or depleted uranium slugs, i doubt that could go though that armored nuclear waste trucks plates. Even at 11 years old, watching this in the theaters back in 1990 i was thinking this.
That’s right, the original version shows it snap her neck with it’s right hand claw, lift her body up in the air and then you hear it tear and twist her body and then it throws her body away.
The first one scared me but that's cause they literally showed merphy getting shot up little bit little. That scene freaked me out. The second film the part where they cut the cop on the belly and taking Cain's brain out was what got me. This scene was creepy. Now that I'm older I enjoy this movie more. To think had we got green goblin In his creepy costume the kids that watched it would of had really grown on that character way more and the figures would of been more iconic then the crappy power ranger one that some like while others like me still hate the look.
To be fair, the violence in Robocop 2 is very tame compared to the first installment, so even what’s been cut out of this broadcast version is minimal.
Full credit to Phil Tippett and his team for creating such a tense scene. Also to the late Galyn Gorg for still impressing me at 4:01 how she falls in a heap from off screen after being killed by Cain. That really looked painful and staying in that pose.
That's why I always say that RoboCop personally is the second most scary sci-fi universe ever created, with Terminator taking the top spot and Blade Runner coming in 3rd. RoboCain is simply terrifying, Phil Tippett made a terrific job with this one, it really evokes a sense of impending doom and scariness on us.
He really wasn't a child though. He's an adult who had that disease where they always look like a child. He was mean enough so that his soldiers wouldn't turn on him. So he had that going for him...plus he was banging that hot chic after cain was killed.
If I could admit, I really like Cain, even before he became a cyborg. Tom Noonan was amazing and creepy, especially how he speaks like a Christ-like figure.
@@DemonBoy3223 He was nothing compared to Jesus. He was a deluded, delusional parasite of a man. Him seeing himself as being Christ-like given all he'd done was truly indicative of his warped moral compass.
Honestly I do miss these types of films. Today people are to much of wimps and to sensitive. Tone things way to much down and take the life out of things.
@@giuliasole9878 Not to mention it's not a quick neck snap as the cut here implies. You see the talons grab her face and twist as he lifts her. You hear what sounds like her getting pulped against the wall repeatedly in rage offscreen as the kid flees, then he drops her body.
"I was going to review a new chicken sandwich, but I'm bleeding to death from multiple gunshot wounds. So, instead, as my life flashes before my eyes, I'll do a top ten list of my favorite sandwiches."
No, don't you see her , she is terrified of her life, and . don't you see her nervously licking her lips, and the look of horror in her eyes? he realizes she'll not be able to pleasure him, so he kills her, mercifully in a way. it's one of hte most gripping pieces of acting i've seen in my life
She could have. With all his metal parts I'm sure he could have sexually stimulated her. It's just that he was like a brain in a jar. No Willy meant no sexual stimulation for him. Nothing in it for him so if he couldn't have her nobody could.
@@decimated550 yah honestly the acting in these films and the characters and writing is what really stands out to me. You don't get this type of creativity anymore. It's as if directors think we have popular franchises we don't need script or cool lines anymore.
She actually died at 55 on July 14th, 2020 a day later before she would have turned 56 on July 15th. It’s really sad though that it’s been almost 3 years since Galyn Gorg been gone who was a really Beautiful Woman & seemed like a really good person of a Actor I do have respect for her.
I've never seen these parts with so many cuts and edits...not even the theatrical version is chopped up like this. On the other hand the mayor is hilarious, he deserved to live.
this part is in my memorie since childhood, never forgot about it , and it's the first thing that comes to mind when i thin about robocop 2 , robocop 1 was the slime man towards the end
Lolol that's awesome ,I literally have the same thought with each movie,,every time k think of the original its the slime guy basically falling apart, and this scene for the second
The reason Cain kills Angie is because in a deleted scene, Cain found out that Angie was cheating on him with Cain's little sidekick kid. He was crushed. So in the later scene that we know of is Cain looking at Angie, and since she crushed his heart, he crushed her face.Jul 21, 2007
Woman: "It could take some getting used to." Yeah, as long as you have money you would be surprised what a woman would be willing to do or accept in life.
True the guy that made it out of the building almost made it had he just stayed down and didn't try to run. But then again it's a robot he did a head count before he shot the lights out. And then the ruthless sick murder side took over and he just wanted to play with his food rather than just kill them. Which makes this bot scary cause it took it's time and new he wasn't finished. If this was modern time we would of seen stupid chases scenes and things getting tossed around. This scene was as far as I'm concerned 90 percent perfect. A little bit better blending and it would been a stand out film.
This movie and cast was so ahead of it's time and is 1st class all the way. Angie is just stunning (the mix race woman) and I love her acting skills as well as Hob the young drug dealer boy. I have seen this movie around six times and I cannot get enough, truly amazing 😊
ALL BECAUSE the Boy wouldn't let the Woman see Kain when he was all fucked up in the Hospital: The Woman said, "We gotta see Kain" The Boy replied, "Fuck Kain"
That demented chick who created Cain ruthlessly tagged Robocop as "obsolete". Though Cain, who is supposed to be an advanced prototype, can't formulate shit in a damn human language!
Even when I saw this when it first came out on home video, I thought "Why would they give this drug lord tyrant all this absolute power? Expect that he would protect the city--do what Robocop does? Talk about asking for trouble... "
What's interesting is that color LCD panels were very new then, and here you can see the thousands of tiny connectors in the amber ribbon and part of the cold cathode flourecent backlight and diffuser sheet. Those panels cost thousands just for the LCD part and a few dead pixels on a new panel was the norm, not the exception.
Oh yeah, the Atari Lynx and Sega Game Gear were released around when this movie came out (1989 and 1991 respectively) the displays on those were very washed out and blurry, and the display assembly ate through batteries like mad (6 AA in the Game Gear gave you about 4 hours of play, if you were lucky)
Cortaram uma parte do filme . Quando ele mata a mulher . Aparece ele pegando a cabeça dela. Chacoalha ela no ar . E depois solta. Nesse pedaço so aparece ele soltando
I loved these characters dynamics. The kid doesn't care about Kane, using the drug "nuke," or the cult-like thing at all. Meanwhile the girl is hooked on the drugs and wanted to go save him, finds it cool the robot is him, he kills her anyway. This movie was way better than it was given credit for. The original script would've had none of this and instead basically been the main enemy of three and removing people from their homes to build the "utopia" and whatnot. Do I wish 3 was better made? Absolutely. This one? It was fine the way it is, would've been far less exciting with random commandos and another average bad guy then than the whole kane plot and the horror of how basically making no one into another robocop is working. Also this film has the nerve to kill a 12 year old, who is basically smart enough to take over kane's drug ring and make this deal going on, and prolong the death scene with Robocop feeling bad he couldn't save him, after he helped tear him apart earlier. This movie is brutal and real.
Yeah this film actually stands the test of time and has some awesome effects. It also really earned its hard-R rating. The squibs were pretty great, and it was uncompromising and gory. I could never get over that cop's vivisection that took place while he was still alive -- I remember being unnerved by that for days.
