Whether or not you like this movie, you don't get any better than "You know there's a warrant out for your arrest?" "Yes" "OK, just checking. What can I do for you?"
As you can see at 1:29 the sign says no smoking. This justifies Murphy’s actions. That hooligan knows better than to be smoking in there. Now he must pay the price.
This movie is set in an alternative universe where the brainwashing from Robocop 2 was actually permanent, which means in this scene Robocop was looking specifically for the guy with the cigarette.
I grew up watching robocop. Its the best. I still watch it to this day. Im 33 😊. With all the CGI Hollywood pumps out today, this movie felt more real now than when i was 10.
Reed addressing Leon by his name really enhances the joke. The joke would work on its own, but Reed being on first-name basis with Leon implies he has to deal with this shit regularly.
I think they added Leon in Robocop Rogue City. He asks a bunch of useless questions, and you may choose between a ticket for him, or letting him go with a warning. 😆
I wouldn't be the officer trying to arrest RoboCop... I doubt he'd hurt me, due to his programming (i.e. Directive 3: Uphold the Law), but even if he just stood there, nobody in that room would be able to make him move unless he wanted to move himself.
@@mikaelwojciechowski7281 Ah yes, Directive 3... *the directive that was literally deleted **_two scenes_** before this one along with Directives 1, 2, and 4*
@@gundamdetractor337 I mean I guess? I would say though, that this movie is insulting to kids mentality, but clearly it has its fans so what do I know...
@@blackmage665 well, its less violent and its better than the 2014, thats why i think its better for children(at least for nowadays. i remember watching Robocop back in time, no problem).

The third one is the weakest but you can’t deny the screens with his music is playing and him holding back against the mercenary’s with his flamethrower
Lol 😂... Ohhh man. The actor who plays the sergeant is naturally humorous.. Love such humour.... The way n style he says the direction to the rehab area is so freaking funny. Very nice acting.
you know, those EXTRAS in the police station may not have been given much direction but those two nerdy rookies behind Reed are DEFINITELY pulling off the look of "I'm so scared I'm crapping myself trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do right now"
I still can’t tell if Reed is legitimately happy to see Murphy as well as when he knows what he’s gonna do to the Rehab area, or if he’s terrified and he’s keeping a smile cause he’s nervous
Suddenly, the third one seems a hell of a lot better than it used too. Though tbh the tv series was a much better sequel and should've got a season 3 in "future wars" time not that mad max/transformers generic af salvation nonsense.
Originally it was supposed to be Sgt Reed who was killed in the movie, but due to "executive meddling" they were forced to change it to Lewis instead. In the comicbook, its Reed who is killed while Lewis survives.
This is one of those movies that you watch, not for great acting or story, but for sheer schlockiness. A true 'guilty pleasure' flick. I mean, c'mon - Robo with a flight pack, and an Uzi/Flamethrower/bazooka arm attachment? Who doesn't enjoy that kind of 'over-the-top' ridiculousness?
Actually I like this movie :) But is is amazing how a mature and violent movie, became... a family show tv serie ^^ In France, in the 90's we had Robocop toys everywhere :D !
No, it's not - Miller and Dekker were good writers. It's a studio insisting that it be made into a kids franchise; pure and simple. If it'd been another R-rated movie, it would've been great. Maybe better than "2".
@@GoatzombieBubba Er, yes, because you don't bite off the hand that feeds you! If they'd argued against the studio not to produce a PG-13 movie, they would've been fired and Orion would've found somebody else to do it for 'em. It's that simple. The executives are the boss - what they say, goes.
Ultimate Coola Oh I agree with you 100% I got 3 of the old dvd 📀 movies of robocop movies, the remake robocop movie was a fucking joke They don’t follow the made story at all and the new robocop was weak he had no super Strength at all wtf was that and the only thing he was he was just faster and jump pretty high that’s it but if you shot him 20 times he is dead.
@@actionfigurescollectionssu7854 very true, they also butchered how Murphy died, they changed into that he was killed in a car bomb, that remake was definitely a joke.
sometimes people really are that detached from that exact moment says the lass who spent 20 minutes at the paintball field trying to find her empty ammo pack, when she was still wearing it >.>
Police chief:Murphy you know theres a warrant out for your arrest? Murphy:yes Me:who is gonna arrest this man?! Hes the hero of the last two movies lol
@@merendell You did see the look on the chiefs face right? He's the same guy from the last two movies ,by now he knows if Murphy shows up the shit is finna hit the fan lol.
Certified Fresh not as good as Peter Weller. But robocop 3 is good, people just hated it because it was dumbed down to PG13 and some of the lines were terrible. To be honest, I only found out recently that peter weller wasn't robocop in number 3. All my life I was convinced that it was the same actor in all 3 movies.
@@kakarick4685 And Robocop 2 and 3 were dumbed down versions of Miller's comic. I don't think Robocop performing drive by arrests and bitch slapping the Anita Sarkeesians of the world would fly today (or maybe it would, depending on your sensibilities). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SAHOKweFcWw.html I'm just saying that if he did have to be replaced, RJB looked a lot like Weller, and his voice fit the new flaming rocket launcher toting part. When Weller did The Dark Knight Returns, he was definitely the right age to be playing a grizzled Batman, but it just felt off. The characters in the comic remarked about how his voice was like Roosevelt's, carrying the city through a time of war. I have respect for Weller, but from a purely voice acting perspective, that kind of a voice definitely belonged to Michael Ironside. It's weird, because Michael Ironside *did* voice Batman in another animated version of The Dark Knight Returns, so he was open and available to the part, yet they chose Weller. And then they kicked Michael Ironside out of Splinter Cell for some rando. And then David Hayter got replaced with Keifer Sutherland. Glynnis Talken Campbell for Trisha Helfer. Terrance Howard for Don Cheadle. Etc. Etc. Sometimes those changes are good, sometimes bad. Robocop 1 was still obviously the best one. Weller is Robocop, and no one else could have owned that part. Ironside Robo would have been wrong (and kind of hilarious to think about Ironside navigating that suit). RJB fits Robo kind of like a voice actor version of David Tennant in the Big Finish productions. A good imitation to be sure, but still an imitation. But kudos to Miller for doing for Robocop what he did for Batman with The Dark Knight Returns, which is lay the foundation for the dark tone of the Burton Batman movies and the Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy; he expanded the story of a hero into the story of a city's decline and redemption (sort of like The Man With No Name trilogy or The Matrix Trilogy). Miller went on to master the art of mythology with Sin City. Robocop vs. Terminator was apparently also the brainchild of Miller. Robocop vs. Terminator, Alien vs. Predator. The permanently shelved human-Alien war from the Alien 3 Cameron sequel (which would spiritually become Avatar). The Star Wars Expanded Universe. Ahh, the roads not taken. Mind you, if the Ghostbusters reboot and the Star Wars sequel trilogy are any indication, I'd rather none of these get made at all. But these could all certainly stand to be animated. Minor vocal critiques aside, the animated Dark Knight Returns freaking rocked. Miller being such a fan of Robocop and coming from the same place, Weller playing Batman was perfect.
Looking back, the themes of both the Robocop movies and the comics seem more relevant now than ever. Hyper violence, insanity, crime, tribal conflicts, the rapid erosion of the middle class and the widening chasms between rich and poor, political correctness gone insane (or better known today as "Social Justice Warriors"), gentrification, corporate control, the proliferation of vice, advanced weaponry, mercenary armies, war on the poor, communities fighting desperate battles for their homes and families, aces in the hole to tip the balance. There are a lot of common themes throughout Miller's work and other similar stories of civilizations. Even the kid friendly sterilization of Robocop from print to screen tells a kind of meta-narrative of the need for parents to protect their children from, but also simultaneously prepare them for, the insanity of the world (which one could argue the comics were doing already in a twisted Alan Moore sort of way). To be trite, the more things change, the more they stay the same. This is the human condition.
@@AgentQQ8 "the more things change, the more they stay the same" Speaking contextually...that is simultaneously the most depressing, AND hope-inspiring, thing I've heard in a long time. the duality of our existence, non?
@@AirwolfArchive could be bad acting but everyone has a moment like that at some point in their lives.. mine was wandering the staging area of the paintball field for 20 minutes trying to remember where I left my ammo pouch after the last game... it was still on my waist.
it's hated on for being "the worst film of the series" but just because it's "the worst of the 3" doesn't mean it's a terrible film. I mean, Robocop 3 to me is way better than...say... SOLARIS.
@@leonardlayten4464 The rights he read will be those of the peasants of old Transylvania. "You have the right to remain silent... while getting IMPALED!" 😈
To bad the movie was written so shitty. Also, he should have studied Peter Weller's portrayal. Weller actually worked with a mime artist to have it both robotic and fluid. This one just looked jerky and campy, like 1950's sci-fi.
Some people never grow up, still leaving their crappy comments about this movie (which they have the Right to do) but it just sucks how they still feel the need to let it out and not appreciate. Because this is still a beautiful film.
