Being a Security Manager. I'm not worried about this device taking my job. This is no different than having multiple IP Cameras. that i can move around, only this will cost way more to purchase ($150,000), lease($1500 month) and maintain . Would be useful for a Security Officer also, he or she will no longer need to walk his or her post. Just send the robot out.

@Choi Pizza now If you think 520lbs is too heavy to pick up you never met any college students. They once picked my 2003 Chevy cavilier 4 door up and moved it sideways. 520 lbs is a joke in comparison to a 2,000 lb vehicle.

Put a few of them in Chicago or Manhattan, and I guarantee most of them would be smashed and their parts sold in chop shops. Those cameras and sensors alone could sell for $300 or $1000 depending on who wants robot parts.

Are security cameras outrageous? Than how does putting wheels on one make it somehow cross that threshold? All it does it record and have access to external servers for, say, facial recognition

​@@ryanthompson3737 im pretty sure this thing is just gathering data. I heard the theory that its being used to eventually aid in crime prevention by observing characteristics of criminals. It clearly can't stop a crime from happening, it has no weapons but I think the goal is to have it observe crime for now. So eventually that Tom Cruise movie, Minority Report, without the psychic "people", just robots with advanced image recognition ect.
