I've managed to get the boat back in the workshop so progress can continue :)
Here is a little update on where everything is at the moment and what is left to do. Hope you enjoy and more should follow along shortly!

Very nice build. A Rover 3.5 alloy V8 would have been a better engine choice IMO. Brilliant timber work mate.

Look for an ignition distributer with a mechanical tach drive built into it. One should be available for a Ford 1500. Gorgeous boat!

It was a second hand eBay find that I had shipped from the US, I think I was searching for something like hot rod fuel filler.

Thanks! Most of it is from Davey www.davey.co.uk with the exception of the fuel filler.

Just print out a new insert for the tachometer and replace the numbers???

I think that is the route I will go, currently looking to combine making a new face with the correct numbers coupled with an electronic conversion.

How about wiring the tac to show prop rpm

The gearbox drive is 1:1 so engine rpm is the same as on the prop. I am looking at doing an electronic conversion on the tach now as I think this might be most straight forward and accurate.

You will have to put rubber mounts under your engine.

I expect so. All runs quite smoothly for now but its only really been run at a fast idle on the trailer. It will be easy enough to adapt if it's no good.
