The rocket key is one of the best upgrades you can do.I take those engines apart all the time and rebuild them.I put them on razor drifters and they make fun go karts.
I really hope you make some video's on that engine running, a engine run-stand would do the trick, I'm going to build a trike with two of those 49cc 2-stroke engines on it, and a electric hub front wheel for a reverse, lol, awesome video and info, thanks for sharing.

You need to take flywheel off and put the rocket key to the right side, take the piston all way up and put the notch about 5 o'clock, the clutch engages late and get the jump on start line (NOT sure o that clutch but may work too)
You can go to the right or left. To the right advances and left retards as I explained we'll see if retarding it like I did here works good though. Idk what you mean about the 5 o'clock though. The common thing with these is to advance it but I think they say that so much because It sounds better than retarding it. (Not saying retarding will work perfect though)
Great videos Im doing a similar build myself had a 49cc engine that was shot and it was just cheaper to buy a new one than order the parts needed. Did you ever install the electric start? Thats the one thing the new motor didn't come with, may swap over the old unit.
Man those v8 motors are beutiful!! Hopefully this thing will rip! Are you gunna get the top end ported? That will just be the icing on the cake. If I were you I'd use a pumper style carburetor like the Wj 71 (people use that on 50-71cc engines) to get the most power and you won't have float bowl slosh. Also that crank looks nice especially for 17 bucks!
THANKS!! The porting and major work will be done when I get speed numbers off these 'standard' upgrades. Since thats so more advance I figure I do it that way. Yea still considering my carb options... I hear the Dellorto 14/14 is a great option too!
I too hav an exahust system. Its a tecnigas exhaust system but i will have to chop and re weld and replace the manifold with a mini moto 1. Also do we need to do any thing with a clutch variator or do theese engins not have 1. Also im intressted on gettin the rocket key. Also could you not take all the fins off the fly wheel 2 lighting it right up sure it will add to the performance. Also you ever thort about a transmission box on.
Instead of sticking that screw driver in here just use an impact gun it takes it right off with out haveing to stick anything anywhere I do it on dirt bike motors all the time
Hi guys I just bought my son 1 of these 49cc dirt bikes it's only been ridden twice bought from new and for some reason the rear wheel has locked up . Bike will start if it's up on a stand but the rear wheel spins, engine guts off when wheel stops spinning. Any ideas on what it could be. Waiting for the shop to get back to me

I think the rocketkey is a scam since by just with that you might break the engine and 2 strokes dont really work well with more advanced timing. Though it is unique on every engine and i suggest that you get one of those adjustable ignition so you can set the timing just right
I hate to tell you this but that full circle crank is bad news now you're poor crank bearings are going to starve because the two stroke mix can't get in there to lubricate them because the full circle Crank is blocking that from happening.. . it's best to do CAM2s turbo crank mod on a stock crank You need a piston with a 12mm wrist pin for that crank to work by the way in case you haven't noticed you have to put a lot of thought into these engines to make them work right and a lot of modifications fitting and grinding all you're doing is buying junk parts from China and bolting them together your engines not going to be very good I'm sorry to tell you that... that lightened flywheel you have is bad it's better that use a stock flywheel and mod it like how Skullcam did... now you're going to have the rotating Mass of that full-circle crank and that heavy to two shoe steal clutch and that lightened flywheel isn't enough to counterbalance it... bling bling lol
Okay bro I understand your trying to help but your kind of turning me off from it calling everything I’ve been doing ‘messing up’ nothing is messed up. The engine is incomplete right now, I’m still learning about what I need to do. Thanks for watching tho
