shesh, this documentary is slowly becoming about the crumbling inner city infrastructure of the american northeast. It's sad to see this history get abandoned or demolished.
4:13 According to Google Street View, a small memorial wall is now at the site of the pet store. It seems to contain numerous wedding pictures of Rocky and Adrian as well as the name of the pet store that used to be there.
Spectrum is Gone too ! Saw AEROSMITH There at Nov 78 - When Taylor got hit by a thrown bottle ! He said That AEROSMITH will NEVER COME back to play at Spectrum !
One of James' best videos. Also, this was actually projected to a live audience, as it was made for some sort of Rocky fan film gathering. There was also video material of that screening, but I don't know if any of the archive channels have it here on YT.
Man James did some fantastic documentaries and videos back in the day. Oh wow he updated things 5 years ago in 2017. I like when he does a re-upload with updated locations. James, it was videos you made like this that had me visiting Cinemassacre so often in the early 2000's.
I was surprised! This "little" homemade production was really quite well done, made & informative. I'm from Dallas, Texas but this has always been one of my all time favorite movies. I had no idea so many people go running up those steps. It's like people that walk across the Beatles Abbey Road crosswalk. As a teenager (in 73) I spent the night in the same jailhouse were they kept Lee Harvey Oswald. It's all still just the same today as in 1963.
That was fantastic So fascinating to see famous places in movies, in real life, then piecing the places together. James really needs to make, tons more of these.
I like how you put the location so anyone else can have a look for themselves. Maybe when I am able to once I completely get out of most of the debt I'm in, I'll go do this. It'll be interesting to see what it looks like far into the future.
look how happy energenic and filled with joy he was filming this pretty cool to see (no before people say it its not just cause he was younger) its cause he truly loves film and movies
Those doofuses at MGM or Amazon or whoever owns this shit now would do good to license and include this as a bonus feature on an official re-release of these films! This is as much a historical artifact as the movies themselves. Many good memories watching this alongside Rocky. Thank you, James!
I've spent the last few weeks trawling through all your AVGN stuff and I'm now I'm watching all your movie review stuff. Your passion for movies gets me in the mood to watch them. I'm thinking of going through all your top 50 movies (The ones I haven't seen). I hate Rocky, can't help it, I just don't like it, I want to, but it bores me rigid. But I'm thinking about letting my son watch them just in case he likes them. You're selling it 😂
Love the video as always as I have for years but just disappointed that all the Rocky music and cutscenes was removed. The Take You Back Corner in the original review gave me goosebumps :(
Are there any more videos of movie location tours other than the ones that are uploaded on this channel? This was very interesting and I've seen the others too.
This location video got me the motivation to watch the movie Creed. I'm going to predict a Creed jr. vs Dolph Lundgren sequel in which the age, height, and strength difference would be too ridiculous. We shouldn't be surprised that this would come out of Hollywood. The current events with Russia would be fitting though.
Almost right in your prediction. It's Adonis Johnson Creed vs Viktor Drago . The sons of Apollo Creed and Ivan Drago will be squaring off after Viktor challenges Adonis.
So much great, old Cinemassacre-content! Thank you for uploading this! But there's so much I can't find anymore. Can someone please upload the Michael Jackson tribute video, and other "lost" videos from that era?
@@charlesthorndike2702 Not sure if you already found this, but here's a link to the original version ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ID-jyDylbjY.html
Wow! This documentary was so cool and inspirational. It makes me glad I've lived in Philadelphia for the last 10 years. Also, funny enough I've still as of yet to eat a Philly Cheese Steak as blasphemous as that is, lol!
This was a good one. I remember seen rocky v street fight in person as im from Kensington not to far from where it was flimed. Kenzo not northeast philly.
Some few people say James is a cuck of a person, but you gotta admit him driving in Kensington anytime within his life is some ballsy and manly dedication for this vid! Even 10 years prior to the film Rocky that area was getting bad.
Listening and looking at the changed opening music and changed film footage (moving footage changed into stills, moving footage playing in a corner), I think it was flagged indeed.
burnzy3210 Well technically this is is James's channel. Just not his main channel. I don't really know why he made a whole new account for his old location tours instead of just re-uploading them on his main channel but whatever.
Actually should go to Bayonne, NJ as the character "Rocky" was based on real life punching bag, Chuck Wepner. I think they finally settled out of court with Wepner, who sued because he never saw a dime.
