Cant lie at the start I thought courtney wasn't really into the show, which was okay because we've all seen aot a million times it's the banter that brings us here and it absolutely wouldn't be the same without all three of you. But it seems I was absolutely wrong, lately especially, she seems like shes really locked into the show remembering small details and all, anyway loving the content as usual. This trio is goated.

Differences from the manga: Manga: Historia learns of Erwin's plan to be made queen while Levi's squad remained hidden in the same hideout where the Central Military Police agents were being tortured; having refused at first, she is forced by Levi to fulfill her part while he grabs her by her shirt. Dimo Reeves is the one who asks Historia to hit Levi when she becomes queen, a few moments before his murder at the hands of Kenny. Anime: Historia learns of Erwin's plan to be made queen once the Survey Corps arrived in Orvud after Rod Reiss's transformation, after thinking it through carefully, Historia agrees to take her place as heir to the throne. Mikasa in Orvud, tells Historia that she can hit Levi as soon as she is queen.

Bechdel test? Hmmm. Technically the original Bechdel test asked if there is ever a scene in which two female characters talk about something other than a male character. So, I don't know, a LOT of the conversation on this show revolves around Eren in particular, or Erwin, or other Titans, the majority of which are male. There is one scene I can think of in particular: At the start of Episode 2x6 (the big Reiner/Bert reveal episode), where Historia tries to convince Hange that Ymir is an ally of humanity, and then Hange asks Historia about her name. So I guess that counts (if you count Hange -- I've seen many commenters contend that Hange is actually non-binary). I guess the whole Ymir-Historia snowy mountain scene counts too (Daz was discussed but was not really the point of the discussion). Oh, and the introductory "Krista"/Ymir/Sasha introduction back in 1x3. (Notice how these all revolve around Historia and Ymir? 😆) But the Bechdel test was originally for movies, which are pretty short. If a whole 90-episode TV series struggles to pass the test, you might consider that kind of sad. On the other hand, the test was never meant to be the be-all, end-all of feminist criticism.
