A small but interesting fact that your generation is unaware of, Jonny Carson was the undisputed King of Late Night TV for decades. & Every night he would walk out through those colorful curtains & give a 20 min monolog. Over the years, literally thousands upon thousands of acts made their appearance on Jonny's stage. NONE got the color curtains, they all got plain gray curtains. Jonny & ONLY Jonny got the color. & Then... Jonny insisted Rodney Dangerfield get the color curtains. His show, he's the boss, you do what he says. Shocked the entire nation when we saw it. Rodney really did have it rough. He was effectively abandoned at a very young age (8 I think) and grew up hustling on the streets. He sold aluminum siding until being "discovered" in his mid-thirties.
I love Rodney, a kidney stone is not just a stone..... it's a jagged stone that rips and scrapes on the way out, doctors say it's the worst pain a human can feel.

when late night was late night. men were men. casually smoking. Funny as all hell. Greatest generation and all are almost all gone. SO lucky i was able to see it. Clean humor .. IT was known rodney was a very nervous guy and also part of his comedy. He was a drinker though.

A guy I know's wife just had kidney stones - she said she would rather give birth a dozen times in a row than go through that again! I always heard that a kidney stone was comparable to childbirth, but thought it was just an exaggeration based on the fact that men often get them and where it's exiting from... but apparently it is true!!! 🤣
I have had at least a dozen kidney stones. It is one of the few pains a man can experience that can be compared to the pain women experience during childbirth. I have had enough kidney stones that they feel like a strong pinch now. My first stone had me crying and puking.
@@TylerD288 yes and no. Some people are more prone to developing kidney stones. If you drink lots of water and eat certain fruits (pineapple is a great one) you will be fine. But if you consistently drink dark liquids (tea and coffee) and/or liquids containing high amounts of fake sugar (soda), and not enough water, stones will develop. My fourth stone was the first one I had to get an operation to remove. That was when I started working with a Urologist. He ran some tests and tried to tell me I simply wasn’t drinking enough water. I basically cut off tea and soda for at least two years. I still developed stones. The first year we figured I was dealing with stones that were already developed. The second year we recognized that I was still developing stones. Even though I went from drinking half a gallon of water to two gallons of water per day.

I don't drink much coffee or soda (a little, but only a cup or one or two sodas per week, sometimes none), basically water all day except at meal times, when I drink juice. I drink some green tea also, but only one big mug a day and I've always eaten lots of vegetables. I hope you never have to deal with them again, they sound terrible.

You know what I would like to see you guys react to? There's a film where Rodney Dangerfield did voice work for a cartoon character. The name of that film is called Rover Dangerfield. Where he does the voice of a dog by the name of Rover Dangerfield. This dog does stand-up comedy the same style as Rodney Dangerfield but from a dog's perspective. But it's not just a comedy film it's also an action adventure. With a villain and a decent storyline. And it would be cool to see you guys react to that. Because not only was the dog named inspired by Rodney Dangerfield the voice actor for the dog was Rodney Dangerfield.
I’ve had 6 surgeries for kidney stones. The first time, I had a nurse tell me that she gave birth to 3 children and had kidney stones once, and that she’d rather have another kid than have kidney stones again 😂
And that's the difference between an American Jewish comedian and an Israeli Jewish comedian, as the Israeli Jewish comedian will NEVER self-deprecate. And I somewhat get it, but it's still sad because you have to laugh at yourself to have empathy for your adversaries, something most Israelis don't possess about their adversaries or themselves.
