@@sebastiandomagala9233I clicked this comment to type exactly the same. Sampras was the Federer before Federer. Fed is amazing, no lie. But Sampras was elegant and graceful.
There isn't one player on the planet who Federer didn't school at least once. I mean - the way he could make it look so simple when he was on. I loved every second of these displays of skill, aggressiveness, creativity and athleticism
@@andreaho roddick was good with Gilbert as his coach, his game I suppose got more versatile with Larry Stephanke; Came close to winning Wimbledon, barely lost to Federer. But roddick didn’t win much after Federer took over, you’re right
you have to remember that Federer had outrageous serving stats. for years he was right at the top of the game for aces and service game wins. he was up there with roddick and isner at their peak
Hurkacz is not a "servebot", he's a complete player, not rarely spectacular. Maybe you think that everyone with a good serve is a "servebot", in that case: my bad!
I was coming into the comments to type this. I don’t know him well, but just based on those clips, the guy has more than serves. He took 4 sets from Federer on that first set and had several good rallies and plays that didn’t involve the serve
Being one of the best returners and - tactically speaking - arguably the best server is what makes Federer so special; "beating him with his own weapon" is basically impossible because of that.
He was so good from Dubai to Wimbledon of 2019 truly played some wonderful ball at a few months shy of 38. Wimbledon always will be etched in people's minds but gets lost in the shuffle he was also a couple points away from winning the sunshine double (arguably should’ve done it tho domi was great even with Fed having his chances in that IW final)
I think the best example of a servebot is John Isner. People call Ivo Karlovic a servebot, but he was more of an old-school serve and volley player...he actually was a good volleyer. Isner could serve, and that's it. I do think Raonic was pretty much a servebot, but yes, he did have a pretty decent forehand also.
Hurkacz, Raonic, Anderson... None of them should be considered as servebot, the title is just ridiculous. Of course, they are big servers, all of them like to aproach to the net, but for me, servebots are players like Karlovic, Isner, Cressy or Querrey.
Roger Federer has the best serve of all time! Modeled after Pete, he made it more versatile and clutch. Many times he was 2 points from losing and would fire an ace, occasionally off the 2nd serve; & yes trolls I know he lost to joker with wimby on his racket. But joker is the best returner ever, so…
Kevin looked too sour at the net handshake. Did he really think he had a legit chance in that match? Yes, he beat Roger at that Wimbledon marathon match and kudos for that even if it was a fluke. So, get real, snowball's chance in hell.
Most people forget Federer was a serve bot too, with the amount of precision and disguise he had. Too bad for most players he was a bot in every other aspect of the game as well. I stopped watching tennis after this great man left the scene... Tennis hasn't been the same since his retirement and will probably never be 😢
Against the biggest servers, Federer was the best. Even his losses came often on clay (Isner in 2012 DC, Kyrgios Madrid) when the serve didn't matter as much
Federer is an amazing returner . If not for the freak Novak whose returns r otherworldly federer would sure be one of the finest returners of the game n that too being a one-handed backhander . Just imaginr returning a 150 mph with one hand compared to two hands .
SO tired of the servebots, and so gratifying to see them slowly being evolved out of the game. Can you imagine paying a thousand bucks for a great seat at a big match, just to end up essentially watching nothing more than a serving exhibition?
thank god novak and nadal came along to save tennis from FEdersqaush ..fed turned tennis into a popularity /pagenatry contest to sell more watches and running shoes....Fed's weak mental game and backhand couldn't compete agaisnt novak
Federer was a great player, and he looked even better without proper competition.Of course, when first Nadal and then Novak came along, many realized that Roger, perhaps, is NOT the greatest of all time by far, like his lifelong loyal fans would like you to believe.
Fedsqaush was dominated by his 2 rivals Nadal/Djoki overall in his career. He only won 33% of his GS matches agianst them! THAT IS FAILURE..H2H has alosing record agaisnt both, couldn't even beat nadal once at french, Lossed to djoki 3 times at wimbledon finals in a row on Fed's supposed best SURFACE!! 50% of feds titles were on the B circuit 250/500..Fed was weak mentally ,weak backhand, never evolved his sqaush game, didn't think when he played..he got lucky 2003-2009 goldilocks era where got some game going but once the real players like novak/nadal came along fed wilted and resorted to his running shoe and watch selling...DJOKI IS TENNIS where he fine tuned every part of the game to a level no one even come close...Fed just wasn't a bright player his armchair tennis fans turned him into a pagaentry
So Rafael Nadal wasn't playing between 2003-09??? Despite being 5 years older & in his twilight Nadal lost the last 7 of their H2H matches after Federer improved his backhand!!! Prior to Federer turning 34 he was ahead in his H2H with Novak!!!
