We are going to miss this playing. Federer mixing up the slice, drive, volley. Incredible foot work and angles. Just a joy to watch. Medvedev plays like Novak. It’s effective. But it’s ugly baseline boredom.
Its just because I have been a Federer fan since 1998 and I have based my own tennis playing style on him. Both Medvedev and Nishikori are in this vid and are fantastic players. I posted this because I think the view point to watch these pros is great from this angle. :)
This is sad for the game. Medvedev was best if Next Gen here in 2018. He was 22. Yea Fed was GOAT, but Fed is 37 here with a knee surgery and all his other injuries over the years. Yet Fed beats him all three times they played. Twenty years ago and before, nobody over 30 beat the best Next Gen guys. Now, look at tennis today. They have some talent, but have half a game like Medvedev here who is lost at net. and can’t find the will to get better.
