@Jomi Aminu I think a fair few people could break a racquet like that, but you have to take care not to hurt the leg. My knees are mildly dodgy and even if I was the type to destroy racquets they wouldn't be my weapon of choice.
Tennis match-ups are so interesting. Fed has no trouble with Wawrinka. Fed's variation just throws Stan's game in for a loop. At the same time, Stan is the vaccine against Novak's game. Novak loves his insane angles and endless rallies. Peak Wawrinka is one of the few players who can out-angle, out-rally and out-hit Peak Novak. Stan defeating Novak at the French Open Final is one of the most beautiful matches I've ever seen.
@@roflmatol Fed has lost 3x to Stan. Clearly Stan can beat him. But it's 23 to 3. Clearly Fed has the absolute edge, so does Novak. But Stan at his peak is a different story.
@@prkrmc6457 Stan at his peak?against Novak maybe.. How bout Stan at his peak vs Prime Roger at his peak...??Stan still at his best season here..and yet 35 years comeback Fed could defeat him in 5 set...he struggled against Federer outside clay
@@mikehawk2194 But did you really believe it after round one? He was taken to 4 by Jürgen Melzer in the opening round and I clearly remember a journalist suggesting another layoff right then. His second round win over Noah Rubin was in straight sets but two of them were close, so it was unremarkable. Berdych in round three was being touted as a big hurdle. It was only after he stormed through that match that I started bel18ving. I love how he was under the radar for two rounds and then surprised almost everyone but the hardcore fans.
Molybdaenmornell I honestly don’t remember the first couple rounds tbh you could be right maybe it was around the 3rd round. I just remember watching a couple early matches knowing he had it in the bag.
@@__jan6113 well the courts are considerably slower, he can only play his best now in preferred conditions, novak has really gotten to his head, and he is losing to people now he would bagel. 2018 wrecked thiem in nitto, now thiem beats him, wrecks tsitsipas in hopman and dubai, tsitsipas beats him. None of the other goats have this problem. Its really just conditions and age but if he gets his mind right he can win more slams in believe in him
I love how he prepares for the shot long enough for Wawrinka to anticipate a drop volley and run forward before pushing it deep to take him out of position. I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone else do that with a volley.
There has never been one like him. There were likely not be anyone else. Maybe someone may win more slams but the grace with which Federer plays will never be matched.
Because roger doesn’t do much there to get the break. I think he also mentions that in the on court interview :) but I see what you mean AO highlights are not long enough sometimes or miss crucial points
Amazing heart from Stan here. Wasn’t fully fit enough to blast away like he normally does, but just enough heart in there to take it the distance. Respect
An excellent match from two players who are among the greatest ever and whose backhands are the best in the Atp. A mere joy to look at (personally I've always enyojed Stan, even if I consider Federer one of the three best tennis players of all times).
@Roger....wow what a match 👏👏 2017 is Roger Year !❤ We all wish you a successful year! I wish you could win all the 4 Grand Slams this year 😍😍😍 Indeed waiting for the Finals 🤗 Roger, pleaseeeee give me a chance to meet you if you win the Finals 😔😔😔 I have been waiting for soo long. Even the Wimbledon 2014,2015 Finals were breathtaking 😥 Fingers crossed for the Finale 😁
Shame on me, I was hoping for Wawrinka to win, because my heart couldn’t have handled another lost final against Nadal... thank god it didn’t have to. Sadly, it still got last year’s Wimbledon...
After watching the 2020 Australian Open and 2021 Wimbledon I probably like watching tennis more than basketball. Tennis got a lot more action and the game is usually not slow.
Stan has this huge respect for Roger that wouldn't be a surprise if he is letting him win .... in any case makes me admire Stan even more. Best backhand in history!
I still remember after he won the title Roger said when he saw the draw someone said that is your dream draw Roger. He said how could it be my dream draw?!? 😂 Then he defeated the title for two years. When everyone thinks he won't win grand slam ever again. King Roger.
Fedal are so great that you don't need to hate one of them in order to like other though they are long time rival. On the other hand you see Nole Andy fans abusing each other..
Didn’t knew about that but Nole fans are kind of professional abusers especially when it comes to Fedal. No offence to Nole but his fans are abusive on another level.
He goes Stanimode mode against Djoker- and pulls out the win, every time! But when Fed faces Djokovic, last 5 times, he failed to go Fed express mode, worst was Wimbledon 2019, Stan would have easily, won match point, from that position!
@@pauljohnson6019 Cmon man, there is some truth in my comment. federer born 1981. wawrinka born 1985. wawrinka is only 2 years older than Mr Djokovic, which means djokovic pretty much didn't have much of a physical advantage vs wawrinka.
If Federer wins the final and clinches his 18th it would seem to be the perfect time to retire. Even to his most hardcore fans it would be hard to deny it's been a rough 4 years with his peers Djokovic, Murray and others and really stepping up their game - That kind of younger, fiercer competition is probably too much even for the 'greatest of all time' to endure much longer...but part wants to see at how far he could ride this out - Reclaim number 1 and really go out at the top. I think it's a little unrealistic at this point but that would be a sight to see.
Why are you so anxious to watch him retire ? Enjoy his game while it lasts. As for the 'Younger, fiercer competition', they aren't touching the big 4 level anytime soon. At least till 2019 season starts.
oldenvye6432 He just completed the Sunshine Double.. You want him to retire? He's genius, a legend, the GOAT.. He might even end up becoming world no. 1 again.
kuls 43, Federer is 36 this year and made it into the grand final. Unheard of and no one else will ever do it. Djo is prime 29 and couldn't make it past the 2nd round.
So what? He is also a human. Why it's so big deal to lose in 2nd round after so many successful years. Fed also lost in 2nd round in England 4 years back. Rafa lost few times in 1st & 2nd rounds. That doesn't make them less great. I like Fed more than I like Nole but I don't need to hate Nole in order to appreciate Roger. We are fortunate that we are seeing four legendary players in one era playing with each other. Just enjoy it :)
