Super interesting video and yes there are some subtle variations within the iconic 16610 Submariner series. I've been the proud owner of my 16610 steel Sub since July 2002. It has the drilled case lugs, 904L SELs on its original 93250 bracelet with DT3 markings, which indicate the bracelet was manufactured in March 2002. A simply magnificent watch and I still prefer it's more elegant proportions to the newer versions and rather bling bling ceramic bezels - although certainly an outstanding watch. Mine has been all over the world with me. After its recent full Rolex service it still manages to look like it did the day I collected it from the AD, with only a new crown and bezel insert replaced in almost 20 years. It's still the jewel in my collection, that also include a pair of new Tudor BB58s in black/gilt and navy blue ( I just love them), Omega Seamaster 300 and several other pieces. Rolex last a lifetime and deserve their lofty status IMHO.

I purchased my Rolex sub 16610 brand new in 2005, been wearing it ever since. Can’t imagine life without it. Now I have it on a mahogany shell cordovan leather strap. Once the summer rolls around I’ll put it back on its bracelet 👍👍👍

I know exactly how you feel. I have a Sea Dweller that’s become part of me. It feels like an extension of my arm, and I feel naked when I’m not wearing it.

Great video. Really learned a lot. I bought mine new in 1997. At the 6 o'clock position mine has SWISS T 25...for what that's worth. Mine looks new compared to the ones in this video and I literally wear mine everyday all day. Thanks

I bought a Swiss only 16610 yesterday and I am deeply in love with it! Do you think this is more collectible than a regular 16610?

Dominic Maison yes definitely

@@GuardedCrown thank you for the prompt answer and this awesome review! I am not planning to sell it ever and it just feels so nice to have something that is so well crafted. To me the Swiss only dial made me choose this over an 16570 which I intended to buy in the first place. It might not be the rarest watch but somehow the dial is what makes it unique to me

Resurrecting an old video but hoping someone can help! I have the 1997 16610 with hollow end links 501b and 93150 bracelet. Bracelet just doesn’t look good anymore after 27 years of daily wear. Problem is can’t seem to source a 93150 anywhere + wouldn’t mind going to solid end links frankly. If I buy a 93250, would it fit my watch as a straight swap? Would I need new bars or anything else? Thanks for reading.

@@GuardedCrown thank you so much! How about a 97200 as these seem much easier to find?
