One of the best video's i have seen in a long time . I am a watch lover since 1971 and since young age a true watch enthousiast . Around 3 hours a day spending on internet exploring watches but a video like this is complete satisfying ! I saw ( i think ) most of your video's and they are all nice to watch but this one stands out . Thank you for that Eddie van de Wiel

I visited Switzerland and same experiences there with Rolex and Patek. Funny thing my wife who is not into watches told me why do you like going into Rolex stores just to get insulted and miss treated. That was the last time I stepped into any Rolex store and sold my Rolexes. It is a great feeling to have done that as can now explore so many other independent and other brands that still know the meaning of service

The Rolex boutiques tend to be showrooms for their brand and local customers "on the list". I find Rolex ADs are more welcoming. My local AD had many Rolex watches for sale. They also had many coveted watches in the back room that were not on display. That was the first time I saw the Platona watch for sale shortly after it came out. They also had a Platinum Day Date that looked amazing. They also sold Cartier at the time and you could walk out with any model you want. Alas that was 2018 and things have changed. My AD no longer sells Cartier or Rolex, but sells Chopard, Omega, Grand Seiko, Breitling, Hamilton, Baume and Mercier, Longines and other brands. You can still walk with any of those watches and the staff will answer any questions you have and let you try on the watches.

Summer of 2023 I was at the same Rolex Boutique at Galeries Lafayette. I had the worst experience from the Sales Agent, she kept insisting that I needed an appointment to enter the store or wait, and when it was my turn to get in, I could not try on any pieces. So I left, I thought it was just me she had a problem with, but it's an overall shit behavior with everyone.

The AP boutique in Milan prefers appointments. But the service is great. And you must always wear an AP watch to get taken seriously. My sense is that Rolex has gotten too big for its britches. They are not anywhere the best watch maker in the world. There are better watches that are available and cost much less.

Diana memorial at 35:26. I was watching Larry King Live and he announced that Diana was injured in a car accident. That was early evening. I kept watching and before sunrise CNN announced she had died. It was an accident that should have been prevented. And the effect it had on her two sons (especially Harry) was extraordinary.

This is crazy I was in Paris around the same time as you and had close to 100 percent experience with the Rolex and Patek store. Patek even with appointment, they couldnt find my appointment time so I couldnt had a sit down with them. The Rolex in that mall even with 5 sales rep at the time told me I couldnt try out any watches without Appointment. Crazy, my wife had on her Nautilus showing we're Patek customers, with appointment and had bad welcoming.... Paris Patek store is truly the only Patek that doesnt value watch lover or Patek family into their store. WHICH IS CRAZY

Amazing video - combination of watches and city highlights is a joy to watch (no pun). Shocked that you found a 1908 but not surprised at all. My experience at Patek Paris was completely different, they welcomed me, pulled out novelties, let me try them - and take pictures. But I had one of their watches on. I tried the platinum and green world timer and it was stunning. I think your experience would have been different had you had the Calatrava on.

Great video! I was in Paris in April and managed to get myself a black dial OP in the shopping street. I recall the La Fayette's Rolex staff was so rude they did not even want to serve me. When I asked if I can try their watches they said only those who made appointments can try lol. So I went out.

I’ve been in Galleries Lafayette boutique, I was wearing a vintage 1803 day date at the time, never felt unwelcome but it was an intimidating store and I had family with me so I didn’t stay long. I got my Sprite from my local AD about eight months later (on the list for 2.4 years), Patek sounds terrible.

Perfect video. It looks like a beautiful city to visit and the food looks good. But I understand why you did not wear a Rolex. Maybe wearing a 5226 would be ok. I hope you got a snapshot of the wrist in front of Mona Lisa! The hotel was a bit overpriced. I stayed at Citizen M in Miami for around $250, but I did not like it because the room was so tiny.

Hey SC, nice to see your comment. I love the 5226, but sometimes think it is quite a flashy watch. Not sure if I would take it to Paris. With long sleeves probably fine. I would probably book the citizenm again. 400$ during the olympics for 2 with breakfast was not too bad and I liked the tech and location a lot. Hope to see some more travel vlogs on your channel soon :)
