Ralph was always one of my favorite Gracies. He is technical like his older brother Renzo but he has the intensity/aggressiveness of his younger brother Ryan.

The only problem with this hardcore go go go mentality is you destroy yourself physically. In my opinion if you wanna be doing jiujitsu into your old age, and be relatively pain free then this isn't the right philosophy to have.

I am am by no means an expert, but it my limmited formal training in grappling I feel the best way to win in the positioning is sensitivity of the hips. Awareness of your hip position at all times, because that's where the base of power is.

Nahhhh....Im sure Osiander and Gracie probably have been black belts before Jake started doing BJJ. That makes a difference. Look how easily Gracie tapped him out and Osiander was just toying with him. Experience, pure and simple.

Silly question : I noticed there's no degrees on Ralph 's belt. I know he got his BB from Carlos Jr, and degrees don't really matter in BJJ, it's more about the BB (Rolls didn't had no degree and he was past 30). But why is it ? Maybe he just doesn't care ?

Interesting enough episode, but i wouldn’t respond well in this atmosphere. I would do far better in a M Garcia type of environment. And when u watch Jake role with Kurt, and then watch him role with MC, the level difference is night and day IMO.

Ralph is an awesome person! I've had the honor to receive my blue belt from him. This guy truly love jiu-jitsu and the people that are involved in it. I hope I get to train with Kurt someday as he is another great BJJ person. Great vid!
