Keith spraying his hair at 28:40 and smoking. What great TV if he had gone up in flames.

Charlie always looked miserable until he was in a situation where he could show how quick witted he was, the man was hilarious, but you have to break into his inner circle to understand the man

Imo when he got to talking/interacting he became handsome looking and interesting. His drumming is underrated. He keeps time and makes their music sound good.

@@dianeward5405 This was in the 'World War 3', when Mick was doing his solo stuff and wanted to ditch the Stones. He was at war with Keith and they weren't getting on at all. I think this was when Charlie was addicted to heroin, too. Plus, Keith hated their new album as it was shitty, he didn't like all the fluff on the tours. Basically, everyone was arguing and they needed a break.

We as fans see the story unfold with out any of the jam or stuffing. Pretty well only relying on carrier pigeons for our input of information and gossip on this very subject. I say timing in life is something that is out of our hands as individuals so as a group it's just that much more unpredictable. Mick wanted to go for broke in the mid to late 70s and definitely Keith reciprocated but didn't add to the creative pie and in the 80s along with the money of song writing checks started coming in like falling ripe apples in the middle of June. But a much clearer thinking along with the hunger for the game back in Richards blood wanting to go back on the road with fervor and to keep his time and frame of mind on the sort of straight and narrow didn't match up with the high and fast decisions that Mick was already doing with but now much more faster and important for the flash of the moment commitments for the past 12 or so years already. Plus at the end of the day being a catapiller in a petry jar expected to entertain on a daily basis daily basis with 5 different entities involved with the working engine can get clogged no matter iron and steel or the much complicated human element, at times they need some restoration.

Wood obviously wasn't ready to give an example of a "pretty tricky" RS song. I mean, what's tricky about that chord in Honky Tonk Women? IMHO, the trickiest thing about the Stones (and a whole bunch of others) is not what they play, but how they play it.

Interesting that just a couple years later, Bill became very adamant that it was Brian's band, and Brian's initial advertisement that started it all. Here he's being much more general about it, that they were all just there.
