Roma people should try to get PIO ( Person of Indian origin) card so that like Jews who have Israel , they can have one state to raise their issues globally.

For a minute I thought it was Gujrati or some rajasthani language. Secondly it was not "exodus". They were taken as slaves by turkic invaders. I live in an apartment owned by a Romani family in New York city. This is the 21st century and they live in the USA. They refuse to sent their kids to school. When I asked, the mother said she is home schooling the kids. That was a lie. The kids just hang around among themselves glued to their phones etc and do tarot card reading. I tried to convince the father about the importance of education and how education can help elevate the standard of living etc but they were adamant in their ways. When they turn 15/16 one by one they were married off. Three generations live in the building. None of them went to school. If this is the mentality in the USA, I am wondering how more backward they are in Europe. The Jews were also prosecuted and targeted by Europeans but the Jews took to education and skilled trades. As far as I know the only place where the Romani did better than the other Romanis were in Ireland. Plenty of them intermarried with the Irish and got into some level of trade and skilled artisanship especially in the production of liquor.

I have lived in several countries and it was always a similar situation: Roma didn't send their kind to school and when the social workers succeeded to bring them to school they dropped out soon. No wonder they are unemployed. Most of them can't even read and write. And in all that countries education is for free!

In my own family they were forced into houses and we're not allowed to live in the same village as other Roma- isolating everyone and naturalising us. I'm not disagreeing that Roma should find work but I do believe the generational abuse of Roma peoples means it is on everyone to help mitigate the problems from the past that have systematically set up gorja but knocked down Roma the same way most people in the USA know black Americans suffer institutional and social racism. The Roma are the same.
