thanks for this! it's nice to see someone treat this genre with the same seriousness of other genre! I specially luv fics that deal with the comparisons between seeing omegas as inferior and being treated as women are in our society but without having to deal with a woman going through it, ya know? I know this probably sounds awful but it helps me to work through it and think about those issues without too much pain, ya know? I haven't thought about the intersex thing but you're right, I love this new perspective, thanks! plus, as someone that is trying to figure out if they're ace sometimes that time of the month feels like a heat, ya know? bc is something my body wants but not my mind? that is also a thing I haven't seen brought up in fics but maybe it's a me thing and not a assexual thing, so I don't really know. luv your videos, bye!

You’re so welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed the vid 😁 I think fiction is a great way to explore and sort out life so I can 100% understand how omegaverse would help in that way. And I have definitely seen other ace people talk about the dissonance of the body wanting things the brain doesn’t so that makes sense to me for sure. I very much dislike it. I co-wrote a book 5 years ago using the abusive alpha trope that is now the center of the omegaverse construct, but at the end of almost every chapter was an author's note encouraging readers to get out of abusive relationships, to not use drugs or alcohol to cope, and lists of websites, and phone numbers of help groups. It contained real life scenarios and the outcomes based on my co-author's experiences ( a survivor turned counselor). Our goal wasn't to jump on the abusive alpha fan wagon but to point out that it wasn't and never would be love no matter how many books romanticized it.

I'm curious about the book you co-authored! I started writing ABO when i was deep in fanfiction and have since started involving it in my own shapeshifter universe. I love heat cycles and many of the animal habits that can come with this genre, but the toxic alpha male is so prevalent that it's disheartening to those of us who enjoy healthy romance (I'm a fan of dark romance as well, but i have very specific criteria that alpha males just don't fit into). Love the genre, wish it wasn't so bogged down with toxic tropes!

Interesting video. All I've ever seen from the omegaverse is dark stories with non-con, abusive relationships, and asshole alphas. Because of that, I always thought that's what made omegaverse... Well... Omegaverse... It's nice to know it can have sweet and fluffy books as well, and even some of my unpublished novels might even fall into the omegaverse based on some of the tropes you described, which is... An interesting thought honestly... You've given me some food for thought. Thank you.

Yeah I think the dark is more common especially in fanfic, but there’s definitely a huge variety out there. I watched a vid by Dom Noble where he read a couple omegaverse books and said the one was essentially indistinguishable from a cute small town single parent romance except that the parent was an omega man instead of a woman. You’ve just got to really look around to find why you’re looking for
