Ronco & Popeil Commercials pt. 2 

Looking at some of these commercials, I can't help but think Ron Popeil was ahead of his time!

Mr. Microphone, the only Ronco gizmo to be immortalized in an episode of The Simpsons.

I remember ALL of these as a kid. I always wanted the glass frosted, but couldn’t convince my parents how essential it was.

Ronco the first name in defunct stores.

5:20 That's Ron Popeil's daughter, Shannon, giving the fresh guy a shove in the car.

7:10 "Please Don't Touch the Ice" signs sold separately.

After the 3rd party, people would say "jeeez they got the fish shaped ornamental ice again"

I believe the ending v/o for Ronco's Ice Cream Machine was Al Parker (former WLS Chicago staff announcer) and the ending v/o for Ronco's Record Vaccum was former WFLD (Chicago) announcer Jim Barton.

I did some of the pocket fisherman infomercials on QVC for Ron Popeil. He was so enthusiastic. I was only 9 and 10 years old and apparently only made $20 a commercial. I ended up using the fishing pole as a toy for my cat haha

People don't realize how much of an alcohol,ice cream and cleaning problem we had back in the 20th century.

All these ads must have run before Xmas! That bit of "deck the halls" is driving me crazy.

I remember the commercial for the glass frosted and still think it was great idea.

Thanks for posting. How many people over the years bought at least one thing from Ronco? I know my Aunt always loved her gadgets from Ronco. They had mail order stuff also. Dude must have built an empire.

The Glass Froster used Freon, so when Freon was banned, the Glass Froster went with it.

5:21 whole new method of sexual harassment

0:00 to 0:28 and 3:19 to 3:48, those commercials aired regularly on TV around the 1975 Christmas season. I thought they were SO cool, but now the commercials and the decor are just downright tacky. I thought it all looked so modern then and wanted those things, but this was the world of a 7 year old in 1975 and now all the furniture, decor, and contraptions look so tacky. And part 3 had the rhinestone and stud setter, salad spinner, and smokeless ashtray I remember from that same time frame around Christmas 1975.

Wonder how much of all ronco products are still sitting around in garages never used or touched. Wonder who helped with the manufacturing.
