If you are driving north in Norway, say to Nordkapp, and you find your self on the E6 road in Gudbrandsdalen, then the alternative route over Venabygd mountain road is the way to go. Because Rondane is really epic and you won't ever regret it, even in bad weather. 🏔️👌

According to Google Maps you should save about 16 minutes, but that is not the reason you should drive here. Because the views will make it seam like you only spent half the time.
E6 Ringebu to Folldal to E6 Hjerkinn
or
E6 Hjerkinn to Folldal to E6 Ringebu.
if you are traveling south bound in Norway.
If you drive it up and down it is worth it because you get the beautiful views with another perspective when you change the direction.
Follow along as this RV story with my family unfold and enjoy the beautiful views in Rondane.
Best wishes,
Simon

Thanks to SAS Airlines for bumping my family of the plane and leaving them in Spain with nothing, no new flights, no sleeping arrangements and no money. 👌 It made for a great story. But seriously, Thanks to Norwegian Airlines and especially the employee in Spain that rearrange seats so my kids could sit together with my wife on the flight home. 😊 Luckily we have great people around us and resources that allowed us to book a new flight and get them home with an alternative travel arrangement. ♥

Fantastic scenery Simon and a fun trip. You are all very lucky indeed. Looking forward to your next video on Eric's classic Range Rover. 🙂

I have already started on the edit so it will be out next Sunday. 👍😊 Glad you like the views, one of my favorite roads to drive that is tarmac. 🏔️🚘

What a great dad 😊it's never nice when you get bumped that's why I love driving rather flying. I know I can't easily drive everywhere, but I can drive to everywhere I want to go and it's just amazing. You are lucky to have an RV within the family and a great end to their adventure holiday and also an adventure for you too Simon ❤

Thanks Simon! I do my best as I guess most do. 👍😊 This was a no brainer for me and I’m always up for an adventure. 😊 A Driver’s license is on of the best freedom I have, as you say, we can potentially go anywhere. 🤙 I just need to man up now and get out of Norway. 😅

For sure, need to see when I can come over. Either drive or take a flight and film. Thinking about making a series where I go visit other Land Rover owners around the world and the UK must be a good place to start. 😊

Good on you for making a great family adventure out of such a poor position that your family was put in. The scenery could only have been better with a Discovery in it, hahahaha

Yeah, the view always improves with a Discovery in it. 🇳🇴🏔️🚘👌 I’m lucky to have such a great family around me and I’m thankful for it every day. 😊

Looks fun, I’d be driving that RV all over Norway, especially if your dad has a fuel card 😅

Hehe, I would too. 😂 Great way to travel with the family, we have gone on some crazy roads with this thing and it holds up. They have sold this one and bought a smaller one now, van size, so they will be doing some more mountains roads as well now. 😊 First gear was used a lot. 😉

I haven't learned Spanish yet, but it's on my list of things I would like to learn. 👍 I have a plan to go Overlanding in Spain at some point, so learning the language will be part of that. 👍

@@LandRoverDrive Winter is when you find out who is who in the friend department. The guy that crawls out of a warm bed @ -40 C, gets into a cold car and drives 200 kms and helps dig you out of a ditch, is a friend. Where I spent my working life ,cell service only lasted 20km's from town. If u ended up in a ditch, you might be there for days,
@LandRoverDrive
@LandRoverDrive Год назад
@@jdcoverland365 That is for sure. Just expect a lifetime of banter after you have been rescued. 😂 Good friends result in some good banter. 👍 But -40°C is crazy, and dangerous when getting stuck if you don’t have the gear. We always pack for the worst when we head up north, we only get about -30°C on the coldest days but we are pretty remote at times and we drive when there is less traffic. If I were to go remote often I would invest in a satellite phone or at least a beacon. 😊
