Ronnie was unbelievable !!! I saw both Dorian and Ronnie in there primes and I thought nobody could get bigger than Dorian he was my inspiration to compete which I did , and then I remember while Dorian was the Mr O , I had just finished training legs and my training partner threw me Flex Magazine and there was this guy that was curling 225 lbs for reps and they were show casing him , as I looked at the relatively unknown would be King Ronnie , I thought this guy is going to be the next Mr O , because he was just big and thick freeking big , and then Dorian retired and here comes Ronnie just unbelievable he actually was bigger than my inspiration Dorian . I told my friend he’s going to win probably 10 Mr O s , he got 8 I was close . I saw him in person and he was just cartoonish , I told my friend well we might as well be aerobic instructors because we will probably never get to that size , and we were right . Both were incredible Dorian was the first , then Ronnie . Big Ramy is big but he’s no Ronnie or Dorian

Ronnie wasn't bigger than Dorian until 2003, he was actually pretty light at his first Olympia, weighed only 248 pounds. Was around that weight as late as 2002.

@@dj_m19 It depends on your analysis coz even to the naked eye you can tell that Ronnie Coleman was bigger and more complete than Yates and all his MR Olympia weren't debatable and was way more dominant Mr Olympia in a most competitive Era. In short to call a spade a spade Ronnie Coleman is the king of bodybuilding debate closed

@@JotimThingadane-eq3dt 1. So your naked eye magically makes you 3D print Yates into your mind and put him next to Ronnie for you to gauge the size difference? yeah that's what I thought. Official weight, Yates 1997: 272 pounds Official weight Coleman 2002: 248 pounds. As I said previously, Coleman was smaller than Yates pre 2003 and way softer afterwards because he traded conditioning for more size otherwise he wouldn't have been 280+ in 2003, nobody gains 30+ pounds of pure muscle + he had a bad gut everybody saw.

It’s a shame that we just missed out on which would of been one of the best rivalries ever, obviously they faced when it was a young Coleman and Yates at the end of his prime but man if they met in their prime with both of their work ethics it would of been amazing, still we got Ronnie and Jay which was amazing

These two titans of the sport have raised the bar so high that it seems pretty much impossible feat to surpass their physiques at their best in my opinion. Surely there have been impressive physiques but none have left their mark on the sport like these two titans, to be noted is the Shadow competed 25 years ago and the King about 17 years ago. Dorian is the man, on stage he looked like Granit and made everyone next to him look soft and small even Ronnie at that time, Then Dorian Bowed out due to injury and Ronnie seemed to come from nowhere and took it to another level, two of the best Mr Olympias ever (G.O.A.T)

To be honest I like both guys Dorian and Ronnie, I guess I’m a little bit bias living in the U.K. but I will always prefer Dorian Yates over Ronnie but these guys will never be forgotten for what they did for bodybuilding and what they have achieved.....peace.

Though Ronnie was biggest weightwise, but there's something about Dorian's muscle quality, especially in his back, that's outstanding and a bit mo' freakish. However - I would always prefer to look like early Bill Pearl, Reeves or Grimek.

Все это здорово с одной стороны, но в результате - один полный инвалид, а второй наполовину. Стоило ли оно того? Лично для меня это спорный вопрос, скорее нет. Но это был выбор Рони и Дориана, они его сделали, а жалеть теперь об утраченном здоровье - есть ли смысл? Это уже случилось и не изменить. Они добились в бодибилдинге всего, взошли на вершину и долго на ней стояли, указывая другим путь успеха. А вот идти по нему или нет, выбор лично каждого. Но свое имя они вписали в историю бодибилдинга большими буквами навсегда.

Don’t get me wrong Ronnie’s back was phenomenal although Dorian’s back still is the best one. The front double just looks like a game over for the rest and don’t get me started with the rear last spread the guy had wings instead of lats

Dorian brought in the era of the mass monster ............but he also came in extremely hard. Ronnie, finally getting on the special program finally got to the next level and took the mass monster look to the next level ..... but not necessarily to the same quality as Dorian. Additionally .... this was when the whole bubble gut trend started ...............and no idea why it was "accepted". Even if Dorian lacked a front double bi ..... I still think he looks better overall in everything else.

Dorian's frame just couldn't take it anymore he started to look squared and funny. A very hard worker but the genetics could only go that far. He had the body of a weight lifter. No peak in biceps (then torn it later and it got worse) and the triceps were subpar. RONNIE is from another planet. There's nothing like him. He was a combination of Arnold and Phil Heath. Levrone and Wheeler remain the most aesthetic in the history of the game IMO, and the GOAT is Arnold Schwarzenegger. What a remarkable life this man has.

If Dorian didn't have the bicep injuries he would have carried on and won a couple more. He was so much better conditioned even than Ronnie. And still 265lb. He probably would have had to increase his quad size to carry on winning There was a couple of years when Ronnie was 290 and pretty damn dry where his bigger thighs would have made it super close. But I still think side by side Dorian's granite conditioning wins. I really do. In real life it was freaky to behold.

Dorian actually said "The last set is gonna be like somebody's got a gun to your little baby's head and he's gonna pull the trigger unless you give 100%". The audio clip was edited. There is a big difference. It illustrates the extreme mindset he had when he was training to do the unimaginable.

The guys that competed against were already beaten down by the Shadow. Lee, Kevin, flex were just intimidated by Dorian and they always competed for second place.
