Just a regular “weekend detail warrior” trying a ceramic coating for the first time. I talk about Chemical Guys Carbon Force the day after I applied it to my 5 Series BMW. A first in a series of Rookie Reviews for many DIY projects we take on on our weekends and down time. Car Detailing can be a fun experience and provide satisfaction when done.

I used carbon forces with two coats on two cars plus windows and still have about 1/3 of the bottle left. The process is what is needed and I must say, it’s the best non commercial grade product. I had a amazing results. I think you left it on too long, 30 seconds to a minute is all needed when applying.

I think it was a combination of leaving it on too long, applying too much and not wiping it off good enough on my first try at ceramic. I do love the product and will use it again.

What I like about this video is it shows real world results from someone who doesn’t have experience applying ceramic coatings (which is most of us). It can help us learn together. Appreciate your honesty!

The applicators that came with mine were like a micro suede and they were grey. They apply really even and smooth actually. I just got done using it on my black 11' Cadillac CTS. I have to say it looks amazing with the protection after the clay and polish process. Sheds water and dirt like crazy. Could be better at deterring scratches though. Although I am using it on a black car, and it shows everything. Overall I think it's an amazing product.

Well, if you weren't impressed with Chemical Guys ceramic, I would definitely recommend their leather cleaner and conditioner. Get one of their horse hair brushes for the cleaning process. Trust me, better results, and will save you time and work. Don't need to press down too hard when using the brush. Let it do the work. The conditioner has a new car leather smell, and will keep your seats nice and slippery for a couple months before reconditioning. Good stuff.

I have used their leather cleaner and also posted a video. I found that after, it felt tacky, but have found the same with a few other brands as well. I use plenty of chemical guys products and generally happy as they have a store near me, but have found better ceramics and leather cleaners that work better and less high spots. 1 bottle is apparently good for 3 cars!😂 I used carbon force about 2 weekends ago for my car. it was also my first time ever paint correcting and ceramic coating. turned out amazing and i haven’t even needed to wash my car since

AFTER THE POLISH DID YOU DO A IPA WIPE DOWN ,ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT AFTER YOU HAVE POLISHED THE CAR TO REMOVE POLISH OILS , IF NOT NO CERAMIC COATING WILL STICK

Yes, I did do an IPA wipe down with a 50/50 isopropyl-distilled that I mixed myself. I missed videoing a few of the steps, but getting better at that
