Thank you as always for your knowledge and advice. I inherited a Phal with significant root rot due to suffocation, (it had just been constantly soggy from the looks of it. I had to dump murky old water out of the decorative pot.) did a re-pot and luckily it still had a decent amount of aerial roots. The bottom three leaves now look pretty dehydrated but I’m hopeful since it is already trying to grow a new one.

A few days ago my first phal, a mini one, lost both of its leaves in a traumatizing sphag and bag attempt (minus the sphag), too much condensation rotted the stem. It still has roots, so I'm pretending it's not long gone and trying to resuscitate it... wish me luck. This was after a small bit of stem rot that I tried to fix too hastily ;-; Leave a gap in the bag people!

Hi Danny! I have been watching you videos for a couple months now and have been growing my collection with the help of your knowledge and advice. I was wondering if you could to a care guide on schoenorchis type orchids. I recently bought the schoenorchis fragrans and the schoenorchis scolopendria and after doing research I’m still not finding very much. Sources say that these orchids want to dry out for a couple of days but that just doesn’t seem right. I was wondering if you had any advice? Thanks! Have a good day!

Hello!!!I have mushy roots in my phal. I used the same pots and medium . I was put my Phal in a pot 2 sizes bigger. Would that be part of the problem? Should I repot again in a smaller pot! Or did I over water?

Hi Danny! I'm having some serious trouble with my orchid. My mini phal was brought home with me around two weeks ago. The leaves and roots are so healthy and the bloom are just gorgeous, recently, two of the bottom leaves got knocked off and now one of the flowers are becoming extremely droopy. The other flowers are healthy, just the small one is drooping. I water right before it's dry, it gets bright indirect light, and I can't think of anything besides stress from the leaf falling off. Is this why my plant is sad? I hope it's not anything else!!

When a root is rotted only part way down, would you cut the dead part off to where it's alive?

When repotting my orchid I intend to spray the remaining good roots with H2O2 before introducing her to her new pot. My question is: How long after spraying the roots, can I start putting in the new medium?

I water my orchids about every 10 days, I mix 3 o/o peroxide with distilled water, I also add a black tea bag and let them do a deep soak. The leaves and roots are beautiful. My plants just don't vloom. Someone said I have to drop the temperature for them. How long do I make them dormant and what aclamaition do I change to? Thas taught me ALOT. Thank you Dani.

Are they phals? There’s another vid about how to help them bloom, but the short answer is that they need a few cool nights to trigger a flower stalk to start to grow. About 18 degrees Celsius is all that’s needed, so don’t put them in the fridge. Once the flower stalk has started growing, it will continue to grow in warmer temps. Still watch Danni’s video on reblooming, because she explains how much leaf growth you need to have a space for a flower stalk to grow :)

I have the worst luck with phals been struggling with them for 5 months but they are alive and doing OK. I got a mini dendrobium and also a sherry baby and they are super happy, even sap on my oncidium but my phals roots still dying off. I think maybe I gotta stop messing with them. I've repotted them a couple times to get the right set up so it's possible they are just stressed. I'm gonna leave them alone for the next 6 months and see if they do better.

Hi, I hope you can help me. I do have 16 phalaenopsis now and repotted all of them after buying (all of them had this little "grow cage" at the base and the media wasnt really nice). Most of them have grown a lot since then and they have bloomed for over 6 month (hopefully they'll rebloom and don't take a break now because of hormone treatment). New leaves and many roots have grown. Now some pots are already very full of roots and some older roots have died. I think because of the new medium. Can I repot them again now to check the roots, cut away dead roots and maybe rejuvenate them so they will fit the pott (upgrading the pott is not so easy, because I have limited space)? Or is that too much stress? The medium is still good (6 month old), so I would fill it back in. Or might that be too stressful for the plant?

I reported a phal to fresh media but the tips of the roots had black tips but the rest if it was green and plump. I sprayed the roots with rubbing alcohol and hydrogen peroxide, and reported it. Should I have cut off the black tips?

Before you repot your orchids, cut all the rooten roots . Thats what I did. All my orchids are in bloom now

Hi Danny, love your videos! Bit off topic but when you compare two options in English using either, you should only say either once then use "or", for example "I will pot this using either spagnum moss or bark" rather than "either moss either bark". You're English is almost flawless now compared to your old videos and I hope I'm not being rude but I prefer when people correct me in my second language :) Thanks for being the best channel on RU-vid, from NZ
