I think the big change with Mourinho is how players are much more softer than before. He is an old school manager. And that doesn't fly anymore with young player. I would love to see him at Chelsea

Problem with Mourinho is that, using his famous expression, he has been picking clubs with bad "football heritage" i.e. - at a bad place....to bring them back to success. That is INCREDIBLY hard to do. That's not what Pep does (and I'm not comparing them, just using him as contrast). José is playing the manager game by picking teams that are in a bad place where the club hasn't been wining for years. That's a losing game. He needs a project that is not a rescue mission.
Some might have said same thing about Ancelotti when he was at Napoli and Everton then he went back to Real Madrid he's top of his game at 64/65yrs old

I like variation in football. Mourinho gives that. Nothing wrong with his style of football. Football is not just playing triangles. I’m a big fan of the big man up top personally and love the contrast with attack vs defence. Tactics and irritating the opponent is a big part of football

If you check the stats his Roma had second most shots on goal and possession stats last season and most of this season are second highest so this defensive football people are taking is nonsense. In all fairness Mourinho had unlimited budgets in his career, FFP was introduced partly because of his spending at Chelsea. Eddie Howe hasn't had that luxury.

José Mourinho is an elite manager. The guy has been to three finals in the last 3 years 2021 with Spurs and wasn't allowed to play it. Conference league in 22 and Europa league in 23 with Roma. How is he a flop. When was the last time Roma won a Trophy??? If was allowed to Manage Spurs in a final he would have won because that's what he does.
How can you say that klopp is a better manager than Mourinho and keep a straight face. Mourinho has won every domestic trophy available in the 4 different countries he’s managed in. He’s won every European competition and has broken records for most points and goals scored. Domestic trebles and champions leagues with inter Milan and Porto. He’s been beaten once in 9 European competition finals. The fact that he’s done that without any assistance from VAR unlike Klopp.
@@Ayoung2028 Inter reached the UCL finals last year. It is fair to say that Serie A is in the top 3 leagues at this current time, maybe even top 2. He reached a final, not UCL, but it's still a very very hard thing to get to the Europa league final with CL teams included that were related, United was there. Is that not an Elite level? What does this man have to do? He took Roma that was in 15th position when he arrived to where they are now. And I am sure wherever he goes next, he will be successful. He won a major European trophy and got into another European final last year. If this was any other manager his would be lauded. Roma have a very poor squad other than Lukaku and Debala the latter is constantly injured. He was sacked before three easy games that would have put them right back in the top race.

Mourinho needs a certain type of person to coach. His successful teams have been full of real men, rather than soft fairies who can't take criticism. I think we all want him back at Chelsea, but that squad is much too soft for him. But the last few teams he has been at haven't backed him enough to build a team of players that he wants.
