Introvert with a Camera it’s typically Rory. Watching the tv show again made me realize how badly raised she is. Incredibly selfish and Lorelai and everyone keeps acting like she’s a saint. I remember how people would act like Mitchum huntzberger was the enemy for criticizing her.
@@DreaLinh Lorelai definitely had the my-child-is-perfect complex but she only ever raised her daughter to be hardworking. Rory being completely spoiled is her own fault, or stems from her grandparents more than anything.
Priya nah her grandparents tried to keep her grounded to a point. Of course not when it comes to money. But for example when Rory lives with them for a while but when something happened that she didn’t like she started being incredibly disrespectful and rude towards her grandparents, even though they had her back when she had a fight with Lorelei and dropped out of Yale.
Actually it’s just how she figures herself out. If you’re considered to be a goody two shoes all your life and people praise you on that you tend to have problem breaking that character and doing what you want to do. That’s why when she starts having feelings for Jess when she’s with Dean, she feels like she’s betraying the person she is and changing into something she isn’t. Whereas all of that is normal but for someone like her, who has always been praised for being smart, reliable and morally strong, it is very hard to break character. So all of this irritable behaviour is just her coming to terms with what she’s feeling, and sometimes during times like these people tend to forget to think about the other person involved in it i.e. Jess because she feels like it’s easier for him as compared to her situation which is true.
Yeah Rory was for sure wrong here but people seem to forget that she’s a teenage girl who doesn’t know what she wants or how to go about it. I wouldn’t call that toxic just more immature. A lot of high school girls get mad for stupid reasons it’s a pretty realistic portrayal

Who else hates that everybody acts like Rory is a perfect human and is a saint. When she’s really just spoiled. Like Rory I love you but you aren’t that great.
My mom and I were talking about this season yesterday and I agree with you. I like the show and the characters, but even both Rory and Lorelai have had annoying bits in episodes.
I feel that in a town like Stars Hollow its probably best to NOT have a rousing argument in Doose's Market with your not-boyfriend about your secret kiss.

This is one of the biggest reasons I love Rory and Jess, because he doesn't play around he gets to the point and shows her what's right and wrong unlike Dean and Logan
Ummm... Logan also contributed to exacerbating her already bad behavior, encouraging her to be self-absorbed, entitled, irresponsible, and loose with her morals just to live in the moment. If you want examples, look at how he encouraged her to abuse her grandparents' social and financial status as he abused his parents' and his own. When his father hurt her feelings, instead of building her confidence back in who she was, he helped her steal a very expensive yacht which landed her a criminal record and an identity crisis, which he did nothing to help resolve. Logan led by example with a victim mindset which transferred to her, leading her to blame everything but her own vices and never take personal responsibility when things went wrong. This severely damaged her confidence. Finally, during A Year in the Life, he benefitted from feeding her unfaithfulness, cheating on his fiancé with her she was still in a relationship with another man (I know that her relationship with Paul was played for laughs but she literally just treated him so badly its painful. I mean really. A 30-yr-old woman who doesn't even remember her own boyfriend's name and doesn't take the initiative to confront him and break off their relationship? Infantile). After she finally got up the strength to call things like they were and end things over the phone with him, he tracked her down and put on a giant show and even bribed her with a place to stay if she would continue to be his other woman. Sorry, but encouraging someone to cheat with him, especially when he had such a terrible time choosing his priorities (the life his father wanted - Odette, the family business, etc. - over the life he wanted for himself - Rory, adventure, paving his own way) shows that the only thing that truly mattered to him after all was that cushy lifestyle his father's world and wealth provided. If Logan really loved her more than anything, he would've been a man and chosen her, regardless of what his father might do. He proves that while his mouth professes over and over in complaints that he despises everything to do with his father and company and yada-yada-yada, he would rather demoralize himself and someone else because he won't risk losing it. And bottom line, he wouldn't demoralize someone that he respects: he doesn't truly respect Rory.
Rory has a Boyfriend. So wtf is she getting mad for Jess having a girlfriend?! She should be thankful that no one found out that she cheated on dean. This is the problem with Rory’s character. She always wanted to have things her way, and she always wanted everything. Even if she couldn’t have it, no one else could. She was always so short tempered and rude to everyone who put her in her place because she is such denial. She always criticized people for things they do, but then views herself as a perfect angel with no flaws.
Your right and no wonder Jess got a girlfriend, to distract himself because he was hurt. Of course he wouldn’t show it but he’s right, Rory kissed him, got his hopes up and didn’t even speak to him over summer expecting he would be fine when she got back.
@indp. iv tbf i think it's because for the all of season 2, jess does sort of pine for her. It's not like he's dating other girls. She's used to him randomly showing up and just wanting to get to know her. Then even Jess eventually gets feds up.
I did hate that about her...she was rude and a spoiled brat to anyone that tried tu put her in her place...but only Jess is smarter than her and she has to walk away with “damn He was right” mentality
And she treated her last boyfriend horribly. The Paul fella. We didn't see much of him but he seemed to treat Rory right and she was off cheating on him

Jess was correct when he pointed out the fact that she kissed him, went to Washington for the summer, didn't write or call Jess, she is still with Dean but is upset that he did not wait around like Dean and was kissing someone else! What a stupid, irrational selfish girl!
What I don't get is she went to NY to see him then she kissed him at the wedding implying that she chose him (right?) Then she goes way for the summer and doesn't call him. Comes back to town and is still with Dean. She had the whole summer to make a choice 😔

Here, he comes back. And she even says later, I thought he came back for me. It seemed like that she thought that, that is pretty obvious. She did love Dean though, he was her first bf, first love. Well having the summer, i guess wasn't really true. She was busy I guess. At at the start of the season she and Lorelai talk or after the talk, she thinks or or does pro/con and decides on Dean.

Jess was very honorable though to not tell anybody about Rory kissing him. He could have told Dean and started something while she was away but he respected her wishes.

I think the writers did it on purpose because technically Rory could care less about him and Shane, it’s clearly bothering her. They once had an episode where Jess said he couldn’t care less about something he didn’t care about but later that same episode, when it came to something about Rory and Dean, he said he could care less on purpose because Dean wouldn’t have caught it.
Kacie Clark actually lol. Anytime any character in the whole show was meant to say “I couldn’t care less” they say “I could care less”. I comment it on every video clip
Kyra Clark Rory correctly said “you couldn’t care less” to Jess about her losing Deans bracelet..and Jess responded saying “I could”, because he cares about Rory and she was upset. It’s in a video called “lost and found part 2” here on RU-vid. So Rory and Jess both know the correct use of the phrase. Then, in the very next episode, Dean comes over and finds Jess at Rory’s house after Jess brought over some food and Jess said “I COULD care less if she starved” or something like that because Dean wouldn’t have caught it since he isn’t “intellectual” like them, and Jess really could care less. I know that educated writers wouldn’t have intelligent characters use bad grammar if there wasn’t a reason for it or meaning behind it since they’re supposed to be smart, Rory especially.
Rory has sex with Dean when he's married and she doesn't seem to care. Rory has sex with Logan when he's engaged and she doesn't seem to care. Rory HATES Jess when he's got a girlfriend and is jealous as fuck. Jess is the ONLY person that can legit hurt Rory.
It's obvious that Rory was not reasonable and considerate at this scene but what's the big deal? It is just made for showing that she cares a lot about Jess even more than Dean. Also Jess dated the girl to see this kind of reaction from Rory.
Rory had noooo reason to be angry at Jess. She didn't break up with Dean ...neither did she communicate what she felt with Jess ...so she had no reason to be angry at Jess for trying to move on.
This is the scene that made me realize how Jess was making out with Shane in public in purpose to make Rory jealous after he knew Rory liked him after she kissed him. It's eventually what led to her breakup with Dean, because of how angry it made Rory to see him dangling Shane in front of her face and baiting her on purpose.

She does have a tendency be entitled. Like in retrospect we have to think about how everyone gave Rory what she wanted. Rory got to openly flirt with Jess and chat him up for a whole year all the while having a boyfriend. Dean became more jealous/controlling but he never dumped her which is what he should have done. At the same time, I'm surprised Jess didn't find other girls to date. It clearly wasn't all that difficult for him. So he basically chased after Rory for an entire season and didn't bother to casually date other girls and keep his options open. Rory would have instantly gotten jealous and it prolly would have expedited the Dean-Rory breakup, but Rory has this weird affect on people lol. Clearly Rory got extremely used to Jess always being so into her.. all the while having her boyfriend see it happen and continue to not dump her. Rory is a brat, but everyone around her enabled that behavior. I think Jess was the closest to semi-regularly calling her out, but in season 2 him and Dean paved the way for that brattiness to emerge
When Shane came into the diner and got annoyed Jess was reading… meanwhile I’m over here depressed that no guy I know reads and if my bf was reading a book when I came to hang I would just sit down beside him and read my own 😂
Rory was so immature. Jess had a point. She wants dean, she wants Jess. She wants dean to be the sweet, loyal, caring boyfriend who waits around like a dumb dog until she’s figured out if she will throw him away eventually or not and basically be the exact opposite person of character that he was (in the beginning). she wants attention from Jess. She also wants him to wait around until she’s figured out her feelings and not move on and just stop his entire teenage life for her, so she can sort out the soap opera of a little fantasy life she’s trying to live. It’s nauseating. She wants it all, but she doesn’t care about either guy’s feelings. It’s all about what she wants, when she wants it, and both guy’s are just things that bob around and exist in her Rory universe.
i always appreicated that both of them were not afraid to hold each other's feet to the fire when it came to wanting both of them to be better people. whether it was for the betterment of their relationship or not.

So it will seem after reading season 8 and other write ups, rory has Logan's kid like lorelai has Christopher's kid. Then lorelai gets with Luke, so I'm guessing rory gets with jess. That's my thought. After all Rory is just like Lorelai and Jess is just like Luke

Whatever, if you like Jess, that’s fine, emotions happen… but don’t act like he’s the one in the wrong when you kissed him and you’ve been in a relationship since you met him, which you have still not handled. BRO I WAS ABSOLUTELY GIDDY WHEN I FIRST WATCHED THE SCENE WHERE JESS CALLS RORY OUT LITERALLY WHAT DOES SHE WANT FROM HIM??? Like, yes, Jess obviously had a crush on her but Rory, who was in a relationship, never flat out told him to stop pursuing her, and *she* was the one who ended up kissing *him.* Which is something I actually doubt he would’ve ever done- like, I’m pretty sure he would’ve kept pining after her but never crossing that line. And then Rory has the audacity to act like she has some sort of claim on Jess, who she’s not dating, or have some sort of resentment over Jess moving on and not sitting around like some puppy waiting for her affection.

Not her fault) - during their last kiss at his publishing thing, she kissed jess even though she was still with Logan, even though Logan cheated on her
