Sold a guy a tool box. He still owed $800. I knew him pretty well and he knew i was moving out of state. So was he. He rode it out "ill send you the rest". Yeah. The look on his face when he opened the door at his new house in ohio! I happened to be passing by!
I saw my personal tools inside another company's site box, the lid was mesh. went and got the bolt cutters and opened up a nice big whole. I did leave a note saying if I catch anymore of my tools in thier position I'm going to get upset and things may get messy. no more problems
We had a guy trying to steal things out of a work van one time, it's funny when the van doors don't open from the inside and it has the safety cage installed....... the cops took a long time to show up and they left him in the back while getting our info. It was like 93 degrees that day. Karma lol
Just had our jobsite broken into about a month ago. I lost 1500 in personal tools and my company lost around 7 or 8 k in tools . I suggest going with roscoes way of dealing with it
Yeah can confirm Ricky and Roscoe’s reactions are spot on especially when you could easily be talking about upwards of 1000$ worth of tools USD at low amount yet alone a high amount
Reminds me of the time someone tried to steal my self leveling tri beam lazer (or whatever it's called) i found it covered under trash and all of our boys told me and my partner to leave it and they'll keep an eye out cause there stuff was missing too and wanted to "talk" to him about why stealing other people's tools isnt very nice. These moments are the only solace i have for working commercial framing and drywall, good times
Back years ago when I was doing some volunteer maintenance work for a Boy Scout camp, one of the staff mentioned problems with tools "Walking off" or being found rusted up left in the woods. I suggested we spraypaint all the handles a bright pink, I think we used a flourescent pink. Tools suddenly stopped walking off, and tools were no longer dropped and left in the woods. 25 bucks of spraypaint solved the problem. As I said back then, who wants a bright pink tool? To be honest though, I think the bigger issue was tools being dropped in the woods, and dark handles would blend in making them hard to find.
Ok you have to follow up on this one. I really want to see what happens next. Please please do another segment on this. This could be epic if you do. Please please!!!!!!!!!! 🍀👍♥️
