Going deeper into the shoulder let's have a look at the rotator cuff muscles. The term is well known, but do you know which 4 muscles make up the rotator cuff, and the 6 scapulohumeral muscles? I look at each of the muscles, making sure you know where to find them, where they run to, and what their actions and functions are.

Thank You for taking the time to run thru this. I'm an X Los Angeles County Emergency Paramedic. I left after 8 ½ years and went Back into the US Military where I was a Combat Pilot. My wife sent me this video. I tore my Supraspinatus around early April 2021, had Arthroscopic Surgery on 7 May 2021. Here is my problem. We had a dishwasher technician come out of the house one month after my procedure he asked me to turn the water off at the front of the house by the street he says he was not allowed to do that not thinking about my shoulder and forgetting about the surgery I went out and I use the wrench and one arm wasn't enough so I use my left arm which is the surgery arm and oh my gosh I heard a pop and I heard a pop followed by burning pain. I knew this wasn't good. Two weeks later I tweaked my shoulder again (yeowwww!!) I went back to my Orthopedic Surgeon and he pretty much blew this all off. I told him I thought a bone anchor popped out or the Suture dislodged from the anchor. Palpating the shoulder I could not feel a possible anchor floating around, I also didn't feel a large special suture moving around This Surgeon said he did not feel a need to go back and fix whatever popped. My arm has not in my mind healed 100%, I have limitations, though I am quite conscious about this unjust I am always trying to be extremely careful not to injure it any further. I Pray that over time I will get more motion back NOTE: how returned from Iraq in April 2010 I retired in November 2010. I injured my back ( painting dinning room and jacked up my lower back big time Diagnosis: 1. L1 Vertebrae 100% crushed 2. L5 Vertebrae 25% crushed 3. L2,3,4 Multiple linear fractures and three bulging discs 4. Had DEXA Scan BAM 💥, diagnosed osteoporosis 5. I was 6'6" tall 235 pounds and in great shape. Now I'm 6'4" and 195. Weight loss cuz I spend a lot of time on back 6. Had Vertebral plasty, bone cement injected in L1 & L5 to stabilize bone fragments ( really helped), I've had multiple RFA radio frequency ablation not much help Bottom line I just deal with back pain. What freaks me out is my Osteoporosis. Falling getting more fractures or hip fractures I still hear popping sounds left upper shoulder & even right shoulder, I do not need shoulder fractures Just thought I would reply, I'm gonna work on exercises after my back feels better. My wife said you are in England. I flew across the Channel in 1989 for an exercise with the Brits at Farnbourogh. Was a blast Mk, thanks again for the video CB

The simplicity of explanation and illustration. Love it. Dealing with a schouder injury now and have been searching and searching for clear explanations of the shoulder. Thank you for sharing with us. If you should ever read my post, a question I have is about the role of the RC muscles regarding upward rotation of the arm. If I -lift my arm sideways to shoulder height, -flex the lower arm so that the hand is pointing forward (in the direction I’m looking) -rotate the hand upwards whilst the elbow and shoulder stay in position (don’t drop etc) ….which op the four RC muscles is most dominant? Kind regards Yuri (The Netherlands)
